Blood test results...finally!

The good news is that on the 3rd try the results finally came back normal. Brett's platelets are coming back down- still high but headed in the right direction and everything else was normal. It seems like we must have just picked a rotten day to test the first place as he was fighting an infection of some sort. So while I wish we had a better understanding of his outbursts I am grateful to have a healthy boy!!!!

Brett has had a rotten week this week at school. I am not sure if he is just overly excited for valentines day or getting excited for only have 11 days left at his current school. Its been rough. The other day I laughed when he got sent home with a paper where he had to write "I will only kick balls" over and over again. I think this is a sign of things to come. I am in realization Brett's just going to be a tough cookie but worth every battle we have with him!

12 work days left and counting down, 29 more days until my due date and counting down. I really wish time could speed up just for the next 2 weeks and then go really really slowly after that!

Another Blood test.... poor kid.

Poor, poor brett has to give more blood. The hospital didnt do all the tests they were suppose to and so we have to go back. The Dr. office seems very optimistic that this last test will just let us know everything is perfectly fine. They do feel its a necessity even though the results they did get back were better this one will just make sure its all good. Not sure how to top an easy bake oven but this time I am bringing Justin for help. It was very hard holding him on my lap with this big belly sticking out.

Yahoo!!!!! I got couches!!!!!!

I would have never guessed after what happened Friday with the couches we ordered that I would have new couches in my living room by Saturday!!!! Anyway Friday we went marathon couch shopping (lets just say this is not Brett's favorite activity). Then Friday night we found the same couches we ordered on KSL classified for sale- used. We decided to go and see them Saturday morning to see if we even liked them or not. We found a web site that had them brand new for only 50.00 more than the ones that were being sold used. Anyway we decided we liked them and then on the way home stopped at a furniture store. We got back in the car and saw RC Willey's across the street. We had already been to the one in Syracuse the day before but Justin thought lets just try this one. Anyway we walked in and found couches that Justin loved within 10 minutes. I was still mixed about what to do but when the sales man said that we could have them by 6 pm that night I was sold!!!!!! They are a different style than what we originally intended for the room but they were the right color. They are also a lot better quality and 100% more comfy than the ones we were going to get. Brett sat on them and said this is it! They were put on a truck that afternoon and we picked them up at 6 pm. It was like Christmas all over again. After we got them home I was very happy with our purchase. Its a pretty dark room so it was tough to get pictures. But it is so nice to have couches. Merry Christmas to me!!!!! (oh and Justin and Brett too)





So we still have to wait and see about the other store refunding the money but in the meantime its so nice to have a place to sit in the front room. I need to go and buy a book to read by the fire.

GGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Well I guess my negative feelings about these couches were right. I was told Tuesday that the couches we ordered where on a truck for sure and would be here Thursday or Friday. I said I would believe it when I see it.... and guess what they are not here!!!!! They are now saying they are not even made yet. So tell me, how does a couch go from being made on a truck assigned to a driver to not even being made. I think we got lied to. They have said they will give us our deposit back via card reversal and it should show up next week- but I just dont trust them ! I am so mad! Its been over a month and a half since we have had couches. So now the million dollar question is....will we ever see our money back?

So I guess its back to couch shopping. Brett does not enjoy this process at all so wish us luck!

Boys!

I guess I really dont understand boys (or men for that matter) very well. First of all Brett and his friend Seth love to play video games together. Thats all they want to do. When I was little I use to love to play barbies, my little ponies, etc. The fun part of that is that you could interact with the other person playing. These boys just like to play video games which provide no interaction at all. The other day they played at Seth's house and came over begging to play Scooby Doo on the Wii. I said fine and then later asked Brett what they had done at Seth's house and found out they had played 45 minutes of video games there as well. The other thing that I think is weird is that ever since Brett and his dad won the game and unlocked the ability to change players midgame- that is all Brett and Seth do. Maybe its like when I use to change barbie doll clothes. The game never goes anywhere because I keep hearing- I need to change players, over and over again.



So right now for Brett it goes from video games to Easy Bake Oven. Seth ran over our house after school today saying- I heard you have an EAsy Bake Oven can we please do it..... So we made cookies. while they were cooking they would go play Scooby Doo then come back down and get their cookies. Its just such a weird mix video games and baking. Brett told Seth not to ask for an Easy Bake for Christmas because its just too big of a gift for Santa to bring (this came from not getting a 4 wheeler) After dinner Brett took time to teach his daddy how to make cookies as well.



Blood test results today for Brett indicated that his white blood cell count is now within normal, however his platelet count is still high. They had more tests that hadnt came back yet that should help us understand that more. They said 3 days for those. so still no answers but at least it was closer to normal this time.

Easy Bake Time

Brett was so fun today. He was so excited to make cookies and a cake. When he was done he said "that was fun". So glad he had a good day after those darn shots. Brett seems like he is just fine and healthy right now with just really red checks. I really hope he just has an infections of some sort.

This is brett being goofy tonight. I had to show off his math skills as well. He is getting so good at adding at age 4. some times he does it without his fingers but even when he does I love that he gets the concept of addition

Brett survived another poke

Took Brett in today for more blood work. Brett was a champ about it up until the minute the needle came out. This time it took just 3 of us. I sat down in the chair and held his legs and one arm while the other 2 people held his arm out. They only needed 1 vial this time. Brett had that same look of terror on his face but he made it through. He kept saying- it hurts it hurts, take it out. Broke my heart just enough that I have told him there is an easy bake oven awaiting him at home (Yes this was his big brother gift- but now has turned into his brave boy gift). That little guy can just melt my heart away and I dont like to see him struggle. After the blood test it was back to school. He walked in and took off his coat he had a bright green arm band on from the shot and the hospital bracelet. As soon as his friends saw that and asked about it he was in heaven. Everyone wanted to know about it. Keep your fingers crossed that whatever made the first one come out worrisome has gone away.

One of the people I work with has a daughter going to the neighborhood preschool that brett will be attending. She told her dad that at school today they learned there would be a new boy coming to school whose name is Jackson who will be having a baby brother soon. I assume they are talking about Brett. It made me happy to hear that she is still expecting him because she never did send home the registration packet with our neighbor. Brett tells me he is excited to be home more with his mommy and the baby but that he still wants to meet new friends his age. I really hope this works out.

I called the funiture store today and they are stating that the couches are in fact loaded on a truck that will be arriving at the store on either Thursday or Friday of this week. Now this isnt the first time I have been told this so I am not optimistic but he swears the driver was assigned and they will be here. A few weeks ago he offered me free delievery (not in writing of course) and I really doubt that will happen but if those couches get here I am going to get them picked up right away! I am not waiting any longer.
