Two Eyed Justin

Well its official Justin now has better eyes than me. I went with him to his follow up appointment today and he is 20/15 in both eyes. I myself could not read the 20/15 line out of my right eye. the sad part is I have always hung this over his head that I could spot deer a lot farther away than him..... I guess this year he wont need a spotter. Everything looks good and so he came home and tossed his glasses into the garbage can, he is also excited to throw away the contact lens solution.

This weekend we are also saying goodbye to Justins green Toyota Truck. The lease is up and we have to turn it in Saturday for the last time. Its been a pretty fun truck and has taken us on some pretty fun trips. The one to oregon being the longest and most memorable.

Brett (knock on wood) has been having a pretty good week. We have had one minor incident. We are headed to the zoo Saturday for my work's summer party. also he is very close to earning another sticker chart prize. The sticker chart was set up for Lagoon but after talking to brett more he said he would rather go to The Big Blue water Slide instead of Lagoon . (Crazy, but heck it saves us money and time). Since I no longer can ride the slide Justin has too. I however have been on the slide since I have been pregnant but didn't realize it at the time. We have to wait until a week after Justin's surgery for him to go. Brett loves the water slide and swimming more than anything.

We have also decided to take Brett out of Tae Kwan Do. I really hate to do that but the 415 start time is seemingly impossible. I have not been feeling well in the mornings so I havent been getting to work on time to take him. Its not a really good reason to quit but truthfully having a job is much more important.

Father and Son are playing Lego Batman once again. Brett is totally in love with this game. they have almost mastered the game on both villian and hero levels. i try to moniter the time but Dad gets into it just as much as son. It has also been a very good thing to use to help him behave at school.

One-Eyed Justin

On Wednesday Justin had a permanent contact lens inserted into his left eye. Deb thank you so much for taking Justin to and from surgery! We both very much appreciate it! Justin's surgery went very well. The only weird thing is that there is a bubble in his eye. When he is laying on his back it is right in his field of vision. It has decreased in size since yesterday and should be gone in a few days.

Justin has wanted his eyes fixed since I meet him over 13 years ago. He never could get Lasik so this is the next best thing. Its a much more involved surgery and way more expensive but it has the result he was looking for. Justin can not see much without his contacts in. today he woke up and opened one eye and low and behold 20/15 vision. Yippee.

Justin goes back in next week for his right eye.



Deb was so wonderful to come and take Justin to the appointment. We have been on so many fun vacations this year I am sort of out of time off. We were planning to go to fish lake to the cabin but Justin didnt want to venture that far from home while he just had surgery. They want the contact to settle before any major activities. I am just plain old tired so we decided to stay home. Brett however wanted to go. He is spending a fun filled weekend with his Nana and grandpa. He has already been 4 wheeling. we will see him again on Tuesday or Wednesday. I miss him already.

Blog name change!

Well as of right now it looks like in March we are going to have to change the name of our blog to The Jackson 4.

Like Father Like Son

We rented Lego Batman last week and let me just tell you that we found Brett's passion. He is a video game junkie. He is only 4 years old and we have already had to institute the timer. Justin left for the weekend and Brett was sad his batman lego partner was gone but lucky for him Papou came up and played with him. Let me just say that these games are not that easy. I tried a few times and had to pull the cheat book up on the internet to figure out how to pass the first level. Justin and Brett together have now won the game twice and because Brett loves it so much we bought a copy of it for him. It amazes me how much he remembers from it. When I try to play he will tell me thats not how you do it. He also will take my paddle and help me get through the stuff I cant make it through. Its amazing how much a 4 year old can do. I think this is only a sign of things to come. I must admit its good father son bonding time I love it when I am able to take a bath in peace and only hear them when they are cheering because they just overcame the joker.

The part I love the best is watching them both on the couch with their eyes glued to the TV pressing buttons and sticking their tongues out in time with each other.





A big thanks to Yia Yia and Papou for coming up and keeping us company this weekend while Justin was off fly fishing with his dad.

By golly I think he's got it.

Oh and look how good my flowers are growing. Nothing ever grows well for me so the fact that they have color and are getting bigger just puts a smile on my face.

The Baseball Game

Uuuuggghhhhh! What a night! Brett earned going to a Raptors baseball game for having good days at school. After school he went to Tae Kwon Do, did awesome and then we had dinner and left for the game. I could tell he was tired and was sort of thinking we shouldnt go but then again he earned it. Well we got there and he saw the mascot and was so happy. Then we got treats. A Churro and a snowie. Anyway when he got to the end of the churro he dropped it. well he started whining. I told him we couldnt get another one because I didnt have any more cash and we were pinned in the middle of an isle. He kept crying. I told him if we left the seats we would go home. Well as soon as we started leaving he started to scream and kick. Justin had to carry him out. We were on the far side of the stadium and walked through so many people just looking at us. One of the vendors outside gave me a foul ball he had caught to try and calm him down. Nothing worked. It was just horrible. I feel sad because he earned going to the game and it turned out bad and I feel bad because I knew he was tired. (it was only the 3rd inning). So we did get to see a grand slam home run so that was cool and we got a game ball but other than that it really was a horrible night. He went straight to bath and bed. I am chalking this one up to the fact he was tired and hungry.

I started a new sticker chart right when we got home so he could earn something else. He has been doing really well at school and outstanding at home. I hope this doesnt set us back any.

Brett is doing way good at Tae Kwan Do. He has earned almost all his stripes so far for white belt. He seems to enjoy it. Today at school he hit his teacher and Mr. Hough his master brought him to his office and talked to him about it. He was very good with him.
