Purple Haze

Its Here!!!! So it has only been out of the garage twice! I have yet to get a picture of it in the sunlight when it looks so sweet. These pictures were taken at night in the garage when Brett got to sit on it for the first time. I will get some better pictures soon.

Childrens Museum

I took Brett to the Children's Museum in Salt Lake during our vacation. He had such a good time it was amazing. That place is wonderful. We got there early and he had the place to himself for about 30 minutes and then it got a little crowded. I cant even tell you what Brett's favorite thing was because he had a few.

Brett had a blast playing with the balls. Then he went shopping in the store, checked out his groceries and then bagged them. Once they were bagged he put them in the back of a truck and drove them home. He also took a few minutes to go to the barn and feed the horse one of the carrots he just purchased. It pretty much took some major bribing to get him to leave the groceries there. I think he felt like they were really his. He also got to play in the water. Once that was over he went back to the balls.

We ended the day at hot dog on a stick. I thought it was kinda of expensive for a hotdog but Brett was in heaven.

Deer Hunt/Harley

I think everyone who reads this blog is from Utah or has been around deer hunting so I am hopeful I dont offend anyone..... I wont show pictures (mostly because I didnt take any, but also to not offend anyone) Anyway my deer hunt this year was successful. We went down to Fillmore, Utah and on opening morning I saw a few bucks. After passing a few two points by I started thinking it was going to rain that evening and the thought of sleeping in the following morning sounded nice so we saw another 2 point and the rest is history.... One shot! I didnt damage any meat or anything. We are having it processed in fillmore but with the prospect that I am now dedicated to trying to cook every night instead of eating out this will be a nice supply to our meat. Now I just need to get a freezer. So I will keep you updated on how I am doing because I hate to cook but after looking over a few months of budgets and seeing how much we eat out I really need to try it a little more.


So Justins Harley is here!!!!! He got to drive it home from the dealership today. Its is very nice looking. I will get some pictures soon. Its hard to explain the color but its purple and in the sunshine you can see blue, white and red flecks. Its really neat. Wont be able to show that in a pictures but you must believe me on how great it looks in the sun. Justin is excited but is bummed he didnt get more of a chance to ride it today. I am sure tomorrow he will be going for a drive. Just a few more weeks before it gets too cold.

Little People World

So I bought Brett a bunch of little people off Ebay. I thought he needed a few more older toys. Anyway I think I went a little overboard.

Jackson Hole/Yellowstone

We are back from Jackson/Yellowstone and now on our way to deer hunt down in Fish Lake at the cabin! We saw some beautiful wild life at Yellowstone. Thank you to Ryan and Missy for allowing us to stay with them. The condo was absolutely wonderful. It was fun to feel like a millionaire for 3 days.
Yellowstone was great. Its been about 6-7 years since I have been and its amazing to see all the trees growing. Last time I went all the trees had been burnt in a fire they are really thick now. Its nice to see. We pulled into Yellowstone just in time for an Old Faithful Show. Perfect timing. We were a little disappointed at the park because we didn't see any bull elk or moose. But you will see the last picture which was taken from far away back in Jackson there was a group of about 25 bull Elk. They were amazing. We also saw a Moose at Grand Teton National Park. We also got to see a red fox hunting prey and pouncing on it. Overall it was a great trip.

Bully/Upcoming Trip…..

So its official my son is a Bully. I picked him up a little later than usual the other day and he was having dinner with the other kids so I sat down while he ate. One of the older boys said “he hit my sister today”. Then another one said he hit me too. Then they started saying. He is such a bully. Last night I picked him up early and his group was outside on the play ground and he was sitting by the fence in time out for hitting again…… we talk about not hitting all the time and he knows he gets time out which he hates but it doesn’t seem to detour him. He hits when he doesn’t get his way and when he is tired….. If feel terrible about my bully. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Well I will be off the blog for a week or so. We are headed to Jackson Hole tomorrow on an adults only trip and then back for a few days and off for the deer hunt.

Brett and Dani 2nd Date

Brett and Dani have not gotten to see each other since May. It was a cute reunion. It took them a little while to warm up to each But soon enough they were best pals again. They played very well together. It amazed me at just how bossy a 1 year old and a 2 year old can be to each other, but neither of them seemed to mind. Ever since Dani left Brett has been asking for her to come back to play with him. It was also nice to see Chris and Paul again. Its been too long. It seems like since we moved to Layton we moved to another universe. It was nice to see old (young) friends.

What a Night…..

Last night was horrible. It started when I picked up Brett at school. He wanted to doddle and I was trying to get him in his car seat. I try and let him be independent but geez, sometimes it is time to go. He threw the absolute biggest tantrum ever. He went stiff and just wailed. It took me 30 minutes to get him strapped in. He kept going the entire way home and then when we got home I put him in time out. He kept going. It was horrible. I had to take the garbage out to have silence. Anyway, I was a bad mom and told him he needed to shut up……This was after I tried everything else. I didn’t say it mean or anything. ( I know everyone has lost all respect for me now, I feel horrible) He didn’t listen obviously but later after he calmed down guess what he started to say. Yep, you guessed it “shut up” I feel horrible. It wasn’t the right thing to say anyway but now I will never forget it. So once this was over and I got him watching a TV show I burnt my arm with steam from mashed potatoes. This is why I normally don’t cook. It is bright red, not peeling or anything but very painful. Justin was teaching so I had to give him a bath while I was in pain. He wouldn’t let me take his shirt off and I couldn’t fight with him so he had his bath in his t-shirt. After he agreed to get out I did get his PJ’s on.

I am really hoping tonight is better. I have my purse armed with suckers to bribe him in his car seat so that we don’t go through that again.

Uuuggghhhh.

Weekend Get-Away

Last weekend Justin, Brett and I went to Fish Lake. It was beautiful. I haven’t had a chance to download pictures yet. Saturday the weather was very windy and then it snowed. We tried to fish but every time they cast out the line it ended up on the bank next to us. It was just too windy. Brett got to throw a few rocks in the lake and he was happy but it was just too cold. The rest of the day we got to enjoy inside the cabin with the curtains open and just looking out at the falling snow. It was very windy but once you are inside the cabin it really was beautiful. Yia Yia and Papou came to visit as well so Brett was excited.

Sunday Brett was tired and we needed to go to a gas station so we started driving. The next thing you knew we were in Capital Reef National Park. Brett was still asleep and we didn’t want to wake him so we drove though. It was a beautiful day. Nice and cool with blue skies. Not to many people around. I have lived in Utah all my life and never been there. I am definitely thinking it will be a good ride for the Harley (estimated deliver date of October 19). Brett woke up on the way back and we got out a little but he was still in his PJ’s and no shoes since we hadn’t planned on ending up there. I put some pictures on of things we saw but these were not my pictures. I haven’t downloaded them yet.





While we had a nice time at Fish Lake sleeping was not one the agenda for the weekend. We brought Brett’s portable crib and it was way too small. Not sure when that happened exactly but it broke my heart to see him in there all scrunched up. So we ended up having him sleep with us one night and that was a joke. Brett sleeps in every direction except the normal way. He kicked us all night. The next day we brought down a twin for him to sleep on the floor with and that did not work either. I laid down with him and just thought it was fun to have mommy in bed with him and just kept playing. He tucked me in and kissed me goodnight then he would get up and put his mouth next to my ear and scream. Thank goodness for Yia Yia and Papou rocking him all night. The next night he feel asleep in the crib we moved him to the twin and then about midnight I ended up down there with him getting kicked. I kept trying to get up but every time I did he would reach out and touch my face. So we slept there until about 6 am and then he was up. He got a 3 hour nap on the car ride home which was well needed. Mommy and Daddy were still tired.
