Spring/Winter

Brett is so excited to play T-ball in May he wants to practice. We decided to get him a mitt so he could catch and ended up with a mitt, bat, tee, and ball. We have figured that he is left handed (not 100% sure yet but he really seems to favor it) and finding a left handed mitt for a toddler is a challenge. He is really doing good at hitting off the tee and catching.





Just when you think spring is here, boom its winter again.

Brett Swimming Lessons

Today was Brett's last day of swimming for this round. He is doing so good and loves playing in the water. He is not exactly swimming yet but gets his head under water and is very relaxed in the water.

Brett and Dax

Brett and Dax got a fun afternoon of playing together. They are two very funny boys. When one of them would paint the other would insist on playing playdough and when that one wanted to paint the opposite would want to play play dough. They just couldnt agree on playing anything together except for the fact that they both wanted to jump on the tramp but it was sooooo cold outside we had to stay inside. The only other things they could agree on was not wearing their shirts, and eating fruit loops. It was a pretty fun afternoon




Cody our wonderful dog got the police called on him for barking. We did not know he was barking during the day all the time. No one told us but we now have a warning. He has a bark collar with fresh batteries and also shaved his neck. Hopefully it fixes it. When we are at home we can not get him to bark.

Spring is here.

Today was such a nice day. It was so hard being at work. My office is so cold that I wore a sweatshirt and fleece when I got in my car it was so hot!

The cement is finally done so today we built the fire pit and had Marshmallows and Smores! Yummy! I like mine burnt to a crisp while Justin takes an approach that takes a lot longer to roast the perfect marshmallow.




Two little boys "forgot" not to walk on the wet concrete. the damage is minimal and I think the prints are kinda cute.


Our shower is still leaking in the basement. This week they came over and pulled out tiles. They resealed the underneath and now we are going to test it to see if it works.

Cement

Its pretty sad to say but I am so excited we are finally on our way to getting some cement put in. I am so sick of mud everywhere so this is a big deal for me. They are still waiting for the ground to dry out enough to bring a tractor to the back yard but they did get started today!!!!



Now after the cement is in we just need the grass to start growing. We got it hydroseeded last fall and it just really hasn't done a whole lot yet. I am a little bummed by the turnout so far. Once the cement is done and we get some odds and ends done we get to have him come back and reseed! I really hope it works this time.

The new Trampoline

Who needs a gym membership when you have built a trampoline one day and then jumped on it for 2 straight days! I am so stiff! This was the big Christmas present that we had for Brett that we decided to hold until his birthday.... okay so his birthday is not until April but with the nice weather we couldn't resist. It took us about 2 hours to build. Brett was suppose to be napping during this time but kept peeking out the window. He finally fell asleep about an hour into it. Brett was sound asleep having a nap when we finished but we couldn't wait to show him. We woke him up and got him out to show him his surprise. His reaction was not exactly what we expected but after he woke up a little he was ecstatic.







The second time we went out on Sunday Brett wore his tigger shirt because tigger can jump so high!

Sports Lover

Brett is such a sports lover. The other night we went to the Weber State Basketball game even though they lost Brett was so into the game. He also had a very close encounter with Waldo the Wildcat which was pretty darn exciting. Brett loves to play football around the house saying he is "Utah" and his opponent is "Alabama". Its pretty funny. For his last sticker chart he picked galatic minigolf.


Brett has also been asking a ton about baseball lately. I must admit he is pretty good at hitting the ball pitched by mom and dad. He has a little work to do catching. We just signed him up for his first year of t-ball this summer so he insists on practicing!

Messy Room

Its amazing how fast 2 little boys can wreck a room when mom is busy cleaning and dad is BBQ'ing......... We had to have a cleaning party so Brett could find his bed. The weather right now is so nice. We are getting some cement put in next week after the ground dries a bit. We got a little fire pit to go with it. I cant wait to roast some marshmallows and make some s'mores

Dr. Suess Week

I bet you didnt know that it was Dr. Suess's birthday this week. I know I didnt. Brett school had a tribute week to Dr Suess. They read many of his books, did art activities and even had some JR High kids come to read to them about Dr. Suess. Brett really enjoyed this week. Justin had a great idea to top the week off by watching "The Cat in the Hat". We did this while having a Pizza picnic! What a fun family night.




Brett has been having such good days at school (KNOCK ON WOOD). He has gone 2 weeks with very little incident! It seems like there are more good than bad days! I can not tell you how much happier I am when he has good days than bad. He earned 20 balls and this weekend will be going Golfing (or bowling) to celebrate his victory.



So the other night I walked up stairs to red koolaid everywhere.... It was on a toy ramp, the wagon, the love sac, cars and the carpet. It seems as if Brett's cars needed to go on a water slide (koolaid slide) into the swimming pool (wagon)..... what a creative little boy! Brett starts swimming lessons again Saturday morning so I guess he was excited about the though but geez.

Brett is so into puzzles right now. He loves putting them together with no help at all. He can do a 25 piece puzzle with no problem.
