I won I won I won

As an HR professional I am usually never allowed to be in the drawings at work. So to actually win something at work is kind of exciting for me. On May 3rd we went to a school and cleaned it up. My specific project was a 36 foot US map painted on black top. I was covered in white, red, yellow and blue by the time it was over. So it was a good service project and then after coming back to the office I found out I won a video camera..... Now I really didnt need one, but I am keeping it because I dont want to jinx myself from winning in the future. It just was fun to win, and for a good cause anyway.

Just a moving update- all of our stuff (minus a few cleaning supplies and a lawn mower) has been brought to the new house. Its in the garage and still we have a lot of work to do but I must say it feels great to be so close to the end. moving over a month as opposed to a weekend has its advantages and disadvantages but I am so happy its almost over. I must put out a note to everyone that UHAUL is not on my happy list of vendors these days. They did not have the trailer we rented and it took some pretty big drama on my part to get a truck in its place for the same price. They did not even call to tell us we would not have a trailer nor did they express empathy for the predicament they put us in. I will not use Uhaul again.

Update on brett- He is now in the preschool class at school. They moved him up because he was not being nice to his friends or teachers and we thought we would give it a try. So far so good. They have to be potty trained in there and other than the first day over a week ago he has not had an accident at school. He sort of plays alone in there as he is much younger than the other kids and needs to get use to it but so far so good. On that note- he got his first field trip permission slip for the zoo this week. I am mixed. I just and very nervous about him doing something that big without family. He came home so excited about it I had to sign it but I am very mixed. The other big thing is that he has been riding a big boy bike with training wheels he did awesome and drove around the block 2x today.

New House Pictures

We are still putting things away but its actually starting to feel like home. We still have about 25% of our stuff at the old house so I really want to have everything put away before we move the rest next weekend. I was feeling pretty overwhelmed yesterday about it all. I went over to clean and after cleaning out the fridge I went to put it in the garbage can. The bag broke halfway up and everything crashed. A real nice neighbor helped me clean it up but let me tell you that whisteshire sauce is hard to get up out of cement. I ended up having to go back to work covered in whistishre sauce and grease (a new shirt by the way). My office smelled interesting. So today I ended up taking a vacation day because I was feeling stressed. I got everything packed now except the garage. I feel much better.

Happy Mothers Day to Me

This is the most awesome Mothers Day Gift!!!! I have wanted a bedroom set forever. These are not pictures from our house but this is my new bedroom set. Its so wonderful to have such a great husband and son!

Boxes, Boxes and More Boxes- New Patio

This is a picture of my life right now. I see boxes everywhere, even when I close my eyes. I can not even tell you how sick of boxes I am. we are probably 60% moved right now to the new place. There is still stuff at our old house but enough at the new place that we are living here. The only negative so far is that there is no drain for the washing machine. We think they sheet rocked over it but are nervous to put a hole into the nice wall. Other than that life is great and we love the new house. We have been sleeping here since Thursday and other than having to wear justin's sock due to no washing machine its still my dream house!



Here is a picture of our new patio. It is one of two places with no boxes on it. Its a very early birthday present from my parents to both of us THANK YOU!!!! The other room with no boxes is Brett's he is a little stressed about the move so we made sure his room was done first.

Robins Nest

After we bought our house Justin went outside and found a robins nest on top of the fireplace vent on the patio. It was black on the bottom because we had been running the fireplace. We were very happy it did not completely catch fire. The sad part is that after he moved the nest the robin perched there again and laid another egg on the fireplace vent. We used the fireplace so it probably got cooked. Then a day later there was another egg there. We relocated the nest and eggs down to the patio floor but the robin has not returned.
