Brett's Scary Adventure

Brett had a scary little adventure today. He got off the bus with other kids who ran back to the day care because it was raining. Brett walked back and could not open the gate. The day care did not realize he was missing and he was locked out in the rain. He walked back to the bus stop and then back to their house and hid under a tree crying. Luckily a very nice neighbor of theirs saw brett and walked him in to the day care. Brett was pretty traumatized and wet. The day care reacted quickly. They have a stool out by the gate now and have taught him how to open the gate. I am still a little upset that they didnt realize he wasnt there but am happy for their immediate action to make sure it doesnt happen again. They were very upset about it as well. Anyway we are grateful that a very nice person saw him and took care of him. Also grateful that he did walk to far away.



Its hard when I work full time to see much of Caleb during the week. I leave while he is sleeping and when I get home he is exhausted. He parties all day at day care and forgets to nap, so when he gets home he is tired. Today he was asleep by 6 pm and that was after I spent an hour trying to keep him awake. I cant wait for the weekend so I get to have some time with his cute little smile.


A lady at my work has a niece with cystic fibrosis. She just turned 2 and is eligible to get a vest that will help her breathe better. the vest is 16k and insurance will pay half. The girl at my work has been going up to morgan (she lives in eagle mt) each weekend to sell crafts at the farmers market. this little girl is so adorable and it just breaks my heart that this life saving device is so much. They have had some generous donations from strangers to help them out. I was able to snag one of these cute little ladders for my front porch from their sale. They have about 1500 left to go.

Busy

Just a quick post to let you know we are still alive. It seems like I am posting a lot fewer and farther in between these days. Life has been really busy lately. Brett and Daddy went Fillmore this last weekend to antelope hunt and Caleb and I stayed home. I didnt leave the bed the whole weekend as I was under the weather. Also I got a really cool new phone that took all weekend to play with. I am so not tech savvy but now I have really cool phone with lots of fun apps. Brett and I have been downloading app after free app to it so that we have more games to play. We have light sabers, yatzee, connect four, bowling, fishing, frogger, a bar scanner to look up prices, etc. Also i can facebook and gmail easily from it. the only problem is that it wont download pictures to my blog. If I could do that I could blog all the time. Anyway life is good here just busy. We are all healthy today (knock on wood)....

The picture above was a photo I took with my new phone. Caleb is sitting up really well these days and rolling all over the place. He looked like he was going to start crawling but then he seemed to ditch crawling for rolling wherever he wants to go. He is quicker than quick.

Brett is doing well at kindergarten. He likes his class and has been talking about friends he has made. I dont know how much he is learning as most is a review right now but socially it seems like a great thing for him. He also seems to be doing good at day care. The less structured home day care setting paired with having the break with kindergarten each day has made a huge difference.

I will try and take more pictures so that I can have something to blog about.

Soccer

Soccer season started up again. This year Brett is playing for West Weber and is #6 on the grey team. Its much closer to home and he knows one of the kids on his team from school. Brett has cleats this year as well and I must say that they really did make a difference in the number of times he fell down.

He scored either 3 or 4 times and was very excited to say he lost his shoe during one of them and kept going to kick it in. I did not have a video of that one. The best part was that he was cheering when his teammates scored (last year none of the kids really got the whole team thing) The second video is of him cheering for his teammate #3 and the other 3 are of him scoring goals.



Its a busy time of year with football season, hunting season and soccer season. Right after this game we dropped Caleb off with Ryan and Missy (THANK YOU!!!!) and we headed down to the Utah game. Brett is not enjoying the Utah games too much this year but I think its because he has been so tired at the 2 we went to so far. He always ends up having fun but man its hard getting him there.

Tickle Me Elmo

Okay so this video looks pretty bad for me letting Caleb fall. Caleb now has a fear of Elmo. I think Elmo is kinda creepy myself.






Brett is home sick today. He had a bad fever yesterday, he slept in until 10 today and seems to be a little groggy but no fever yet. He is sad about missing kindergarten but is enjoying his day with me and Caleb as you can tell in the video.

Perfect Day

Today was just the best day. We celebrated our 13 year anniversary and my birthday today.

We started out by going to the Lion King at Capital Theatre. Justin, Brett and I had a blast. It was a very visually stimulating experience. Brett was enamored the entire time. It could not have been a better. We had tickets in the 6th row. they were so worth the price we paid.




After the play we went to Tepenyaki(sp?) for dinner. Brett loved the fire, chopsticks and ice cream. I was impressed that Justin caught 3 shrimp in a row. We went early enough that we got a table to ourselves.

Thanks to Yia Yia, Papou, Aunt Jen, Uncle Mike, Jace and Aleck for taking good care of Caleb so we could enjoy a perfect day.
