Its not much but its a start. Also another good start: brett has been doing great. Very good at school. Since the school switch he has gotten stickers every day except one. They said he is great. He has challenging moments but just like all other 3 year olds. He has been doing good at home too. So nice to get good reports instead of bad ones all the time. Other than that life is normal as always. Today we went on a spur of the moment 4 wheeler ride and the mountains were amazing. The colors were so vibrant. I was bummed when I realized I left my camera at home.

Pony Party

Brett was invited to a bday party across the street today. He had so much fun riding ponies! He was the youngest kid there by 1.5 years so he was a little nervous at first but it only took a few minutes for him to fit right in.

Hydro Seed

Well we finally reached the point of hydroseeding today! It was the first project that came in under budget. Now we just have to wait for a few weeks to see if it worked.

Brett and his buddy. His friend lives across the street. Its been fun having a friend so close. they get along great. The only issue is when its time to go home.... "lets run from your/my mom"


I know your all sick of yard stuff... but its our lives right now. We got most of the curbing done today. They ran out of sand and have to finish tomorrow. And as always with yard stuff it costs more than the estimate. Imagine that.

Brett's first week at his new school was awesome! I am still holding my breathe but he is doing great. They are very structured and he seems to be doing well with it. There have been a few instances of him saying no to a request but no hitting at all. We are working on listening skills hard right now. He told me the other day "mom, they read a lot of books there, mom, I mean a lot". He also knows all of his colors in sign language already. He has been tracing his name and learning about same and different. I really like it so far and hope the trend continues. (knock on wood). Brett is up to 8 stickers out of 20. he also will get something special at 10 stickers to celebrate.

Justin has been working a ton still out in the yard getting it ready. He is awesome. The sprinklers work so good and the yard is all level. We did not buy any top soil so today he spent all day racking up rocks into piles and I put them in the parking strip. It totally looks like a different yard. We just have a few items left and then on Thursday we are getting curbing and then next Saturday hydroseed. The hardest part will be keeping the dog (and neighbor dogs) off the lawn and brett off for 6 weeks. so after a few more Justin tasks the yard will be in someone elses hands. after the hydroseed we will not do anything else this year other than hope that it grows in! The flower gardens, sand box, and patio are going to be projects in 2009! From where we started it is amazing how far its come. Justin is just great! Best birthday/anniversary present ever..... Justin has tons of brownie points right now.

Other than those two things life is flowing like normal, work is great but busy. Our house is a big dust trap right now with all the yard work its like layer upon layer of dirt. It is going to have to wait for another week. The Utes are 2-0 right now and playing well. They play Utah State tomorrow night at 6. Cant wait. I know I am an alum of Utah state but I have to cheer for Utah to kill them.

Happy 11 Years!

My last few posts have been negative but I need to take some time and say how wonderful the last 11 years have been with my husband. I can still remember when we meet and how much I was in love with him. I still feel the same way. Justin is wonderful! We have our moments but overall I can not beat being the wife of Dr. Justin Jackson! The sprinkler project mentioned below was my idea, it was my anniversary/b-day present to get them done this year. I didnt realize how much of a project it would be but he is out there working his heart off for me. Justin I love you a ton and your the best. I am looking forward to many more.

Brett is starting a new school Monday so I have wanted him to get some attention to make this a good transition but HOLY COW!!!!! So Brett was kicked out of his last school for going berserko on them.... I have read and tried so many things. I am extremely worried about him and can not figure out what is setting off his trigger. I took Brett to home depo today to pick up some sprinkler line and he climbed out of the top of a cart ran up and down the aisles with me chasing him just giggling. When I finally got him back, huffing and puffing I seat belted him in. He cried through the whole check out process with me telling the check out lady to stop bugging him as he was in time out and got him into the truck. He proceeded to take the top part of his seat belt off and threw groceries that he could reach at my head. I got out of the truck (left the air conditioning on) and stood outside for long enough for him to settle. He was absolutely out of control. Trying to hold him didnt work, trying to talk to him didnt work. Nothing worked. He just went crazy. He starts out by just thinking running from adults is fun but then its like something is tripped and he just goes nuts. I am truly at my wits end because we have horrible moments like this but then last night we took him to the Utes game (the Utes won by the way) and he was an absolute doll. Behaved like my little angel.

So yesterday, before I got fired from helping with sprinklers, I put brett down for his nap. I was using the "love and logic approach" to putting him to bed and allowed him to stay in his room with the door shut and he could sleep on the floor. I let him know were were going to a football game and it was important to sleep and he shouldnt have toys in his bed. he then asked about sleeping on the floor. I said okay and went outside for a while. I kept checking on him. I finally left him for about 30 minutes and this is what I saw when I returned.

He feel asleep half on and half off the bed and completely destroyed his room. Now the next mornning on Sunday...(I was not fired until 9 so around 8) we were outside and he was being great. I told him he could
have a sucker (I know its early but geez) if he cleaned up his room. He went in there and did an awesome job. I just dont get it its like Jeckle and hyde. I love him so much and dont get why he is struggling so bad its just killing me inside.




Well wish us luck at the new day care. Its more of a preschool all day long. Its extremely structured and they never do free play for more than 30 minutes. We went the other day and sat through circle time and the teachers were the best. He really got into it. I am hopeful with the more "big" curriculum he wont get bored.

Sprinklers, Sprinklers, Sprinklers, Oh How I hate Sprinklers!

Well this weekend was sprinkler weekend. Little did I know exactly what that meant..... Holy cow! i remember looking at this how thinking how wonderful a big lot would be! But now I am cursing it! Friday, Saturday and Sunday have all been dedicated to installing them. I was little help on each of these days and on Sunday I "got fired" from helping anymore! Justin and I love each other dearly but but I think he had it with me. Luckily we have a very very nice neighbor who helped him on Sunday.



Cody is the only one who likes the sprinklers right now..... We turned on one zone and he went nuts. He was happier than ever. Brett hates them because our attention is on the sprinklers, Justin has been working 12 hours a day in the heat on them, I have a blister, have been tired and am just plum stressed this weekend about them.
