Misc. Trip

On the way home we spent a night in Vegas and saw the Tournament of Kings dinner show. I didn't end up getting any pictures of this night in vegas. Brett was completely enamored by the show. The knights, horses, fireworks, etc. He loved it. Also to top it off he won a sword (along with a half dozen stuffed animals) The sword and the show were the tops for him and all he has talked about since. The first picture is of Brett and daddy after we got home. He has his sword and is sitting in the "Chill Sac" that Justin bought us for a family Christmas present. The 2nd Picture is one from Sea World where he was able to touch manarays. The fun thing was that he won a manaray at the Excalibur after he fished his way to a win.

Point Loma

We had a little time to waste and were able to do it at point loma in San Deigo. Brett loved the time he had to stretch his legs that morning. (it took us 11 hours to get there- we split it up over 2 days) He got to run around. Justin had a good time too. In San Diego its whale watching season and we did get to see a whale off the point. Everyone got to see it except for my mom and Brett.

Sea World

Sea World was just wonderful. now Brett was a little on the tired side since we were up until 11 pm the night before. One thing on our trip we did lack a little was sleep. So he was tired but even with that he had a great time. Brett's favorite part was the penguins and sharks. He liked the dolphin show and the pet show as well. Shamu was wonderful but it was at lunch time so he was a little distracted. At lunch he got a little shamu lunch box and loved carrying it around. I think Sea World was my favorite part of the trip.

Go Utes!

Well alls I can say is that we had an excellent time at the football game. It started the night before at the pep rally and went all the way to the heart wrenching end of the game but the Utes pulled it out and we all had a blast.

At the pep rally the night before the game Brett go up close and personal with Swoop the mascot for the Utes. Its kinda funny because in the past he would not go near anything with a mask on but he was so excited to see Swoop. Luckily he got lots of chances to be near him as he kept coming back to give him five.



Brett and mommy got matching tattoos on our faces for the game. He loved having it on, but taking them off was an entirely different story, but one I must say was worth the fun.



My mom and dad had a good time too. I even heard my mom yell a few times


Prior to the start of the game they had a parade of balloons that brett absolutely loved.

Road Trip

We leave tomorrow for San Diego so I wont be blogging until after Christmas. I am sure by then I will have a ton of pictures to share. Brett is just going to be overwhelmed. We talk every day about when we leave, the game, the fireworks, shamu, the castle, the horses and knights. I am sure it will all end up a blur but I am so excited about the trip!

Santa Claus

Taking Brett to see Santa was so fun this year. Santa decided to come out to my work this year. (Santa Claus just happens to be my boss). Brett usually gets nervous around characters he does not know but when he saw Santa walk up, he ran right over and gave him a hug. he was so excited. He sat right next to Santa and told him he wanted a butterfly for Christmas. It was adorable. He was so brave. He looks nervous in the picture but that is a little deceiving throughout the whole hour we were there he ran over to Santa Claus a few times to wish him a Merry Christmas.







The last picture is his new house and the gas station. I got a freezer for Christmas and Brett has made good use of my box. Since the picture was taken he has added another window, stickers and drawings to make it more like home.

Frosty

Last night we watched Frosty the Snowman and Frosty Returns. This morning we got to build our own snowman. The snow was prefect. Brett loved it. He had so much fun.

10 days until we leave for San Diego. Brett is way excited to go on the trip and stay in a castle (Excalibur). He has also been singing the fight song for the Utes and we have told him about Shamu (he still doesnt get that yet.... he said "I dont want to see Shamu in a castle)

The Jackson's are going to San Diego

I am so excited for a trip to San Diego! The Utes are going to the Poinsetta Bowl on the 22nd. So we are planning an impromtu road trip with my parents. I am very hopeful that with 4 adults being there we will be able to keep a 2 1/2 year old happy. I think Brett will have a blast overall minus the 11 hour drive. We are going to go to Sea World, the football game, and taking him to the Knights of Excalibur in Vegas. I think he might also get to see the ocean for the first time! I cant wait! 2 weeks and counting down! What I love about trips that you get immediate satisfaction instead of just waiting for the day to leave!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Well is officially the holiday season now that it snowed! I always remember the first big snow of the year when I was a kid. The entire block was outside playing in the snow. Brett, Justin and I were out there first thing this morning and then Brett and me again this afternoon. I just loved it. Brett had a blast and so did I.

Christmas Tree

This year we had a different Christmas Tree Experience. Usually we go to Fishlake or Oak City to cut down a tree. This year with all that is going on we didnt have time. So we went to Farr West, Utah and picked out a tree from a Christmas Tree Farm. So we still got to cut one down and the tree still has the same character you find if you get a real one. It was pretty fun. (including a ton of spiders) Brett enjoyed the forest we got to walk through, and on the outskirts of the trees there were horses and lamas. Overall I say we had a blast. We went a week ago to pick it out, Brett ran around picking up sticks and getting lost in the trees. Then we cut it down on Friday morning. What I love about Christmas in our house is that everything doesn't match. It seems to me like everything matches to much these days. When you see Christmas trees everything always is color coordinated and perfect. Ours never matches and is just a hodge podge of stuff we have collected over the years. I really like having a tree with character and having just an eclectic assortment of stuff on it.






After a hard day of Christmas tree decorating Justin and Brett sat down to play Xbox. Brett loves to be just like his daddy.

Thanksgiving Report

So I cooked my first full Thanksgiving Meal. The best news is that it actually came out good. Everything tasted good, no one got burnt, everyone was full and we have a ton of left overs. This morning we had omlets with leftover ham and tomorrow we are having ham fried rice. It was kinda quiet compared to being with more family but it was still nice. I asked Brett was he was thankful for and he said music.




To end a fun thanksgiving we filled the big tub up and Brett got his swimming pool floatie and had a blast.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and lots of good food to eat. We are planning to have a very quiet Thanksgiving at home this year. It will just be Justin, Brett and I. I am looking forward to a long weekend home with Justin and Brett.

Last weekend we went to a Christmas Tree farm to tag a Christmas Tree and on Friday we will go and cut it down. Brett is pretty excited about Santa Claus this year so its going to be a fun month I think. Last night on the way home from school we looked at Christmas lights. I was suprised so many people had them up already.

So back to this weekend. Its Utah vs. BYU football. Saturday at high noon! GO UTES! I have the cutest video of brett saying "Go Utes". I asked him who was yucky and he said "byu" then who is cool "go Utes". Its cute but I didnt get a chance to download it to the blog yet.

Like father like son...........

Justin washed his motorcycle and got it ready to sit for the winter. Its suppose to get cold in a few days. As he was washing it Brett had to wash his bike with a spray bottle. Brett calls his bike the red, yellow, blue harley. It was fun watching him imitate his daddy.

Brett the Artist

No making fun of my art. I just thought that this is a very good display of how much Brett is growing up. He wanted to color and so I sat down with him and colored a picture. He kept asking what everything was. I told him it was a lake, with trees, fish and a boat. I told him it was Brett's lake and wrote it on it because he recognizes his name. He added some nice red color to the outside as well to make it pretty.



So he then said he wanted to draw the same thing. Now I know its a little hard to see so use your imagination but he really went through and drew every element in mine that I spoke about. The lake, trees around the outside and a boat in the middle with a fishing pole. After he drew the fishing pole he just kept the marker on the paper and kept going in circles but it was fun to watch how he was trying to imitate something he saw instead of just scribbling. Then he said mommy I made mommy's lake and had me write the name on it. I am probably the only one who can actually see the lake because I am his mom, but I swear it is there.


Once the lake drawing was over he saw the elmers glue and wanted to glue something. There was a harley mailer (imagine that) sitting there so I ripped it up (Sorry Justin) so he could glue it on. He picked out every harley emblem and put it on the paper. I honestly did not give him this idea or help him with this in any way. I kinda thought it was well organized for a 2 year old. In my mind he was just going to put a few ripped off pieces of junk mail onto a piece of lined paper. He just did it on his own. He then said it was for daddy's harley and a present for daddy.

Hawaii

My mom and dad just got back from Hawaii! I am so jealous. Anyway I got their pictures today and just had to share this one. I think its just a great picture of my mom and dad.



This is them on a 4-wheeler trip to see waterfalls. Also just looks like a blast.

More Harley.....

Okay so I know everyone is getting sick of the Harley pictures but its new.... So for a little while you might see a few of them. Justins parents came up on Saturday and both his mom and dad too a ride. Deb got off to fast so I didnt get a photo. Its pretty funny but Brett and I are the only ones who havent gone for a ride. Brett will not go for many many years to come and I just havent had the opportunity yet. Its hard to go when you dont have a babysitter. for the next 3 weeks I am working 5 days a week too so we dont have the normal opportunity to go out for a date mid day anymore either.

Happy Halloween

Brett was a little monkey for Halloween. He had a banana sticking out of his pocket. He had so much fun trick or treating. He went to about 7 houses and then handed out candy. He made sure everyone got 1 candy and not a extra candy. Then I told him to start giving out 2. He did very good at putting 2 in each bag. He had so much fun until about 8 pm when 2 clowns with teeth showed up at the door. Then a kid in a scream mask. He told Justin there was a bad guy at the door and said he didnt want anymore clowns to come. At that point we just turned the lights off so he could go to bed. Brett had about 10 different kinds of candy but did not finish one of them. He likes salty foods more than sweets just like mommy.



Brett and mommy carving a pumpkin...... Well mommy carved the pumpkin. Brett did not like the inside of the pumpkin at all and freaked when it got on his arm. He did love to see it all lite up.

Trick or treat

Okay so I know this video shows what a bad mom I am.... Brett was standing on the counter top, eating pizza and dancing around. I was there to catch him but I just had to grab the camera because he was being so fun...

Purple Haze

Its Here!!!! So it has only been out of the garage twice! I have yet to get a picture of it in the sunlight when it looks so sweet. These pictures were taken at night in the garage when Brett got to sit on it for the first time. I will get some better pictures soon.
