Weekend in Price/WasherandDryer/Summer

Brett and I went down and spent the weekend in Price. Justin is fishing in Idaho. The first few days the fishing was pretty poor but the final day there (today) they went down what is known as Cardiac Canyon.... and the fishing was awesome. Sounds like another person in their party took a plunge though and lost a rod. I know from experience how it feels to flip a pantoon boat. I am sad that happened but glad Justin and his dad had a good day of fishing to make the trip worth it. While we were in Price Brett's favorite thing to do there was playing in hot tub. I dont think there was much water left by the time he was done!

I am such a nerd! I was so excited on Friday when my new washer and dryer got to my house. As soon as I got back I started using it! My old dryer took like 2 hours to dry so this one is much quicker on the drying department but the washing machine has so many options I think it takes longer than my old one. Its very quiet and plays little tunes when its done. So much better than that darn buzz...... So I had complained enough to Justin to buy me a new one but right after we bought it he took me to the dodge dealership. His toyota is almost off of its lease so he had to get something. But I think the washer and dryer were to butter me up. He got a really nice black dodge truck. I would have taken a picture but it hasnt left the garage... he doesnt want to get it dirty.

Brett is really digging summer! At his school last week they had a end of year celebration. Bounce houses and a picnic. Today he and Seth (seth is at the same school) wanted to relive the day by having a picnic that consisted of watermelon and pink milk.

we were trying to plan a little family trip for the summer. With Justin's busy summer plans there was only 1 week we could do it. Its kinda soon so I hurried and made plans. I am a little nervous. We are going to the Oregon Cost in the trailer to just chill! The thing I am worried about is the drive with Brett and Cody. I am sure there will be lots of stops, treats and bribes but I cant wait to build a sand castle with brett. No plans on the trip. We have RV places reserved but other than that its going to be just hanging at the beach, swimming at the RV park, and relaxing.

Summer is here!

While justin is off fly fishing with his dad, Brett and I have been having a ball. For Brett's birthday he got a slip n slide from his Sweet Friend Dani! Thanks Dani!!!! Today was the first time we got it out because the weather was so nice and we have just enough grass! Brett and Seth had a ball!



So tomorrow I get my new washer and dryer. I am excited that it will not take 3 hours to do a load anymore. I was really hoping to get them delivered early so we could head to price but of course we got the last appt slot of the day. It figures! Anyway we also have justin's b-day present coming. They are shades for the back patio. They let air through but block the sun so our deck will be more enjoyable. They are coming between 10-1 then the w&d between 330 and 530. I bought tickets for a movie in between banking on the assumption everything will be delivered on time.... I bet thats a mistake but I cant wait to see UP. So while cleaning out the laundry room I kept tripping over mops and brooms so today (with no help from my sweet husband) I went to home depot, bought a rack and installed it myself!!!! I feel so handy! Im so klutzy stuff like this usually doesnt work out for me! I am so happy it worked and it is solid on the wall.

Going, Going, Gone

Brett is such a big boy. He has been doing so well not wetting the bed he got a new spider man bed spread, and his daddy also got him a spider man wall hanging to go with his iron man on the other side. Brett is such an action hero kid. We had nice framed pictured of little boys in there but I think Action heroes suit him better. Now he has both.

a few posts ago I talked about our truck load of slag we still had that little hill out there to use. We had a neighbor who was going to take it but never ended up doing it. Justin was obsessed with getting it gone before he went on his fly fishing trip next week. A different neighbor used some of it to do some patterns in his yard so we got a little creative in our uses too. We filled up around our new shrubs in the back, filled another area we will put shrubs in and filled in around the air conditioner. We are not as creative as our neighbors but did a little pattern in one area. We still have a long long ways to go but at least there are now a few finished spots.

1st Tball Game!

Brett was so excited to get his jersey....#1. This got him first up in the batting order. For a kid like Brett that is like winning the lottery. He did great! He played well and had a great time. Justin helped out so much they called and asked him to fill in as coach next week.

Crystal Hot Springs- 1st camping trip

We took our new trailer out on the very first voyage. Brett was so excited he had a bad day at school Friday. Every time he got in trouble he said "it doesnt matter, I am going camping". Luckily our first trip was with friends. I found we forgot a ton of stuff and it was sure nice to have someone to borrow from. Ryan and Missy are prepared for anything.

Crystal Hot Springs was a fun place for the kids. Its kind of a dump. It close to home though so it was a good trial run. The first night we were there, it was a father and son boy scout camp out and insanely crowded. Brett, Dax and Tyson played games and colored and we had lots of other kids join us at the table.

The next day, Ryan and Justin took off to help a friend in bear lake while the rest of us went swimming in the hot springs. There was a water slide there that we went down 4 times. Brett was so excited to go but it lets out into a very cold pool. He did not like that. On the way down he was saying whahoo and then as soon as we hit the water he cried. I had to force him to go the last time so we could get a photo. Now that we are home I asked what he favorite part of camping was.... "by far the water slide".

Brett, Tyson and Daxton played so well together. They played games. Feed the ducks/geese, watched people crawdad fish. etc. At night Brett was so excited that is in his top bunk he could watch TV right in front of his face.

Cody turned out to be a great camping dog. He didnt bark at all, he was good with all the little boys who came to meet him. He was great.

Overall it was a great trip.

Thanks to the Murdocks for going with us and making it a blast!

I might have went a little overbaord with flowers last night.

Didnt get done planting them until after dark. I probably put 3x more than I was planning to in there. Justin once again was a doll and helped me out. Also cooked dinner and went grocery shopping. He is the best of the best.

Shrubs

I know your all getting tired of yard pictures, but that is our life right now! So today I came home from work to a truck full of privacy shrubs (okay so they have a ways to grow but that's the intent). These went around our back patio. Eventually when we are done with all this work and have some money saved up a hot tub will go under the deck so these are to give us a little privacy from the neighbors and they look great! Justin keeps plugging away at the yard. He is such an awesome husband!

42,000 Pounds of Slag

I never in a million years would guess that I would be able to comprehend how much 42k pounds was. Well today, mothers day I learned! (Just FYI I had a great mothers day Saturday- had some people come over to clean my house while I played with Brett, then went for girls night out to dinner and a movie)

Sunday at 1 pm we had 21 tons of slag delivered to put in the yard. I have to admit I was excited to be at this point where we could do this work but I really had no idea what I was in for. When I saw the semi truck pull up with the Slag I knew it was going to be a LONG day.



Brett was a great helper for a few minutes! He got side tracked in a few minutes and through out the day was having a hard time understanding why no one would play with him.


We got the parking strips done in about 3 hours. We had a really nice neighbor who we barley know come over to help for a while. That was awesome. I need to make him cookies or something.


Break time


I step in mud everytime I take cody out of his kennel so this was very important for me to have done. This was the last project of the day. WE got done at 745 pm


The happiest point of the day when we were finally wrapping up. Our neighbor accross the street who is Seth's dad was a huge help as we used his wheelbarrow and lawn mower to move rock


Our house finally is starting to look like it has a yard. We are getting closer I can feel it!


I wish to tell you that I was done moving slag but nope, we still have about 4k pds left over to move! We are trying to figure out exactly where they go! I am sore, sunburnt and tired.

Trees!

The only thing I really miss from New Orleans is the food. Burbon street was fun but I really dont think the lifestyle is for us, but the food I could deal with. So for the first time I made Jambalaya. It was not quite as spicy as we would have liked but I figure since I never cook I should document it.



So remember a few posts back when I said Brett needed a different utensil for each food on his plate. Well now his hands work good for everything. Brett had an awesome first day back to school today.


So when I got home from work today I was blown away to see trees in our yard! Can you believe it!!!!! The grass is starting to come in. The parking strip is cleaned out and we have 3 trees!!! Justin's the best! Happy Mothers day to me (actually I got wicked tickets but this is just as nice)

Look Who's Home!

Brett spent a wonderful week with his grandparents and uncle. He went swimming, to the park, road 4 wheelers, saw indian paintings, etc..... The big finale the Zoo. I was able to butt in to that trip by taking a 1/2 day off work. It was such a nice day to be outside. Dani and Chris joined us as well. Pictures to come as I didnt have a camera so will have to still them from Chris. While he was gone we went to dinner 3 times, ordered in once, and went to 2 movies. It was very nice for us but we were so ready to have him back. Brett and Daddy got to watch Scobby and have milk shakes and then every thing felt normal again.



While we are out at the Zoo Justin pulled an all day yard project. HE worked his bum off. Spent fro 9 am to 6 pm clearing out parking strip and tilling.
