The joys of motherhood

So this was yesterday's list of what happened at school with Brett between 815 and 1 pm. I hesitate to put it out here on my blog but it is what is going on in our world right now. Also I figure as I print this blog out that when Brett has kids of his own giving him grief he can look back and read this.

Brett is having a rough time right now. We thought everything was going very well but it turns out we were not really getting a good picture at school of what was happening in the mornings. I have now made these stop lights for them to send home each day so we can get a better idea, and not reward him for bad choices. We thought everything was just going great.....

but it turns out that Brett has been struggling. Thursday of last week he got so upset he threw over a lego table, within inches of a little girl already in the midst of an asthma attack who was laying on the floor. When I asked how come it was going so well and this was a one time thing it seems they had a different story. The first stop light that came home had a red in the morning and a green in the afternoon. He had kicked a ball at the teacher when asked to put it away, then ran from her, pestered other kids, wouldnt ly down on his matt at nap time, and got scratch by another kid, pushed him down and then kicked him while he was on the ground. This all happened before noon!!!! Afternoon- angel. Now if brett had never been in trouble before I might think it had to do with the teacher- but he has already been kicked out of one school and is on the verge of school number 2. My parents ordered me the total transformation and I have a Dr. appt with a pediatrician who specializes in behavior. I am totally out of ideas!!!! I feel we do good at home disciplining him when he doesnt follow the rules. He is in immediate trouble if he hits or kicks.
Brett is such a dear sweet kid and then he just switches in seconds. I really hope this is figured out before the new baby is here or I might just go insane.

I did it!

So my new rocking chair came today. Thank you Deb, Steve, Justin and Brett for my birthday present. Its very comfy. I can only imagine how many nights I will fall asleep in that chair. But the coolest part is that I built it all by myself. I didnt get one ounce of help from anyone. Brett and Justin were playing Wii and so I followed the directions and went for it and.... when I sat in it, it didnt fall apart.

Wonderful Weekend!

This weekend was very nice. The only thing that was missing was Justin. He was out scouting for the deer hunt. Its too bad he missed such a nice weekend. When I picked up Brett on Friday he had a good day. We had talked about going to a movie when daddy was out of town. I was thinking Saturday but he said he really wanted to go Friday. I said "how come?" he said because we still need to celebrate your birthday. How could I say no. we went and saw Cloudy with a chance of meatballs which I must say I enjoyed. He was so good throughout. After we bought a pizza and ate it outside of the theaters. It was great weather and downtown was just humming with people. Downtown Ogden is really turning into a nice place. We watched lots of people while we ate and then went over to hydro flow to watch the indoor surfers through the window. I must say that looked painful. Brett wanted to see a successful rider and I must say it took some time. It was just the best night with Brett.

Saturday we went to his soccer game. I got another great video of him making a goal but I hit the wrong button and deleted it. He had a good time- his team got killed if you they kept score but since they dont everyone just had a good time. Even the boys who scored for the other team. Brett once again was the only one injured in the game. I figure he get hurt because he is always in the middle of everything. Once he gets hurt he cant wait to get right back in. he played hard and had fun. After he played on the playground and got icecream.

The only problem with the weekend was that Brett didnt want a nap saturday. He took his 2 hours of quiet time but he never slept and he really needed too. After he woke up his friend wanted to play (okay so he rang the door bell 6 times during nap- that could have been part of the problem). Within 20 minutes they were fighting and calling each other idiots, etc. My mom had called and asked me to come down to Salt Lake if we were up to it. Listening to them fight was a good reason to leave. Also the Utes were getting pummeled. So we drove down during half time. The good news is the Utes did come back from being totally killed but they still lost. The only saving grace for the day was that BYU lost as well. I know thats sad but I must say it made me feel a little better. Down in Salt Lake Brett got to play with Jace. They played so well together. No fights at all. they got a little restless at Chili's but we all did.

Sunday Brett went to a birthday party at Chuck e Cheese. he had fun but he and Seth barley spoke a word (it was seth's party). I think they were both still a little miffed from the day before. Then when we got home Daddy was home. We all took a nap and they played Lego Star Wars, then watched Star wars and now are playing again. Brett is in heaven. I just dont get his love for Star Wars. I think its boring but Brett has now watched all 6 movies. Because of all this time off I got to finish The Lost Symbol Dan Browns new book. I enjoyed it very much. I thought the ending dragged a little but overall I enjoyed it. I hope he doesnt wait 6 years to write another one.

Well I guess that means its almost Monday. Time to go back to work for the week. I am outta vacation officially until October 1st and even then I have to save some up for time I will need off in March!

Birthday

I figured Justin forgot my birthday. I kept giving him chances to save himself. Luckily he remember and a night with the new dan brown novel and bubble bath sounds just about right. My rocking chair will come in October.



Brett finished another sticker chart. He picked bowling at Weber State. They have a great alley and its CHEAP! It has automatic bumpers for Brett and I realize now I need them too. I am the lowest score on bored. Brett and Daddy over doubled my score

My Soccer Cutie

Brett starts Soccer this weekend. He has 7 games and is very very excited. We got his new uniform this week and its a little on the large size for him, but they smallest they have. The shirt goes to his knees, the socks up to his hips and the shorts wont stay up on his little tummy. I had to cut the waste band out of an old pair of shorts and put it around these ones to get them to stay up. Its kinda cute to see him in such big clothing! I hope he has a lot of fun. I cant wait!

football/birthday/anniversary/camping/Fishing&Hillbillies/Dirty Truck

Football:
Its finally here!!!! First game was so much fun. My parents, justins brother luke and his friend plus our family were all there. Its so fun to watch a Ute game these days. 45k+ fans who are totally into the game from the first snap. Also it was nice to see Utah state put up a good fight this year. They havent dont that in a while. I really hope- now that we dont play for a few years that they are better with their new coach.

Birthday Present:
Thanks mom and dad for my new camera. Its great, I am going to take all Justin's computer space in no time with this one!


Anniversary:
Saturday was Justin and mine 12 year anniversary. Justin got a fishing reel and I am going to get a rocking chair for the new baby (anniversary and birthday) but we are going to hold off for a few months for that one. Its been a great 12 years so far.

Camping:
Ryan and Missy invited us up to their lot this weekend. Brett and Daxton played together so well and we just got to enjoy it out there. The boys entertained themselves. So quiet and the weather was great. This is brett standing on a tree in their spot. It was just nice all the way around. Thanks again Ry and Missy for letting us camp there- and letting me steal all your junk food.


Fishing/Hillbillies:
We have been trying to teach Brett to cast a fly rod. We wanted to get him out on some water to practice that way as well. So we headed down to the beaver ponds up at this place and I must tell you instead we got a peak inside of hillbilly heaven. Some of the things we saw: A big guy with his shirt off, covered in welts from his buddy shooting him around 20 times at 10 ft range with a paint gun, they got bored with that and shot their cars up with paint guns. Also when the guy smiled he had no front teeth. Women who probably were around 300 pounds and tatooed wearing string bikinis. About 30 drunk and maybe more than drunk people pull up in trucks with about 10 kids each in the back just hopping around on a very bumpy road The drivers of the trucks were carrying hard alcohol and drunker than anything I have ever seen. I was really worried one of those kids were going to get hurt. Kids started throwing rocks towards Brett and Justin so to make a long story short we decided to leave very quickly and get out of there. But on the way out Brett got stuck in the mud and all heck broke loose. I just stood across the river and watched. Thank you missy for going over there to help out. Justin was at the end of his witts and Brett was at his as well. Justins back seat in the new truck was covered in mud. A good nap later and a few apologies and everything was back to normal. Brett did not do well trying to cast a fly but the circumstances could not have be worse.


You can tell we had a good weekend. Justins new truck was completely brown by the time we left.

4 Year Olds Perception of Money

So tonight is the 1st Utah Utes Football Game!!!! WAHOO!!!! anyway Brett had a major blow out over treats at a baseball game this year so I have been telling him daily that he is only allowed to get out of his seat one time and can get a drink and a snack (like churro or nachos or m&ms). Its his call. But only once no matter what happens to the food. He asks why, and I told him because it cost too much money. Truthfully it does cost way to much to eat at games. But besides that its like 50 rows up and I miss so much of the game. At the Baseball game they only took cash and I was completely out of after he lost his churro. The line at the ATM was too long. So I told him I didnt have any more. also sometimes when I pick him up he always wants to go buy a treat at the gas station or eat at burger king. I have gotten in the habit of telling him that I dont have enough money and just leave it at that. well this morning on the way to school he was going on and on about why he should get more snacks at the game. Specifically he wants a snow cone, hot chocolate, churro, nachos and M&M's and its not fair he can only have one because he has his own money.

he does have a Harley Davidson Hog bank that is full or pennys, nickles and quarters. Its usually money he finds around the house or in my car. He said since I didnt have any moeny he would use his because he never runs out. I asked him how he got his money and if he worked for it. His reply "no I just get it from you". I said well what happens if I run out and you wont have any. His reply- You will give me your money before you run out. So I guess I really need to work on this lesson with brett but he so does not get it.

The good news is there is actually a reason why I feel so icky all the time. The other good news is that everything looks good so far with the baby. I got a great video of it kicking around and the heart beat was nice and strong. October 2nd if the baby cooperates we should know the gender.
