Sickie/Dead things

When I picked Brett up Monday he was really sick. They hadnt been able to register a fever but you could just tell how warm he was. Those ear thermometers just dont work on him. He had a fever that night but during the next day he seemed so much better, then sick again at night, then Wednesday he was just happy all day long. Its hard to keep him relaxed when he feels fine. Then just as we put him to bed boom fever was back in full swing. So the no fever for 24 hour rule went right out the window. 0 Woke up this morning with another slight fever so I took him to the Dr. He tested positive for the swine flu. He had the nasal spray flu mist for swine flu so the Dr. attributed his weak symptoms to that. But still cant go to school. his fever is gone again but we are at home. this is the 3rd day in a row. When you look at him he just looks tired even without the fever but you can really tell once it hits. I have been trying to be careful with my time off so that I have plenty next year when the baby comes. With these days off I am already going to have to work Christmas eve. YUCK! but its worth it to be with him. At least he is not miserable and we are enjoying our quiet time together. Justin is also a little sick. I swear he has had a fever, he swears its just been a soar throat. I have a tickle in my throat but thats about it. Brett has already had to miss the pumpkin walk in West Haven City, and tomorrow is his party at school, then trick or treating. I sure hope he is up to that. He was so sad about the pumpkin walk. I had a little stuffed lab puppy that I had bought on Ebay for the baby's room but it came on the day he missed the pumpkin walk- so thus it was his consolation prize. He has been snuggling with it each time he is sick, and when he feels good its a great football.

Justin left today for the Elk hunt to Fish Lake. I am really hoping he feels well enough to go. He is going to encounter snow and cold down there.

Justin finally talked me into letting dead things in the living room. He found a picture- that sort of matched the colors in the front room so he hung up our antelope that have been in storage. I have held out for a while, but above our fire place just looked empty.

Soccer/Football/Pumpkin

Brett showed up for soccer today and there were no other kids off of his team. He was the only one there. No coach and no kids. It was the last game. Luckily they rounded up a few of the older kids who had already played to be on his team so he could play his last game. The other team had 3 kids. So brett's team was sort of a rainbow. They played well together but it sort of made the fact we told him not to steal the ball from those in the same colored shirts hard. He scored 2x and had a few good other plays. the older kids were very good to play with the younger kids.





After the soccer game it was down to the Utah vs. Airforce Football Game. It wasnt pretty but the Utes pulled out an overtime win. Brett didnt want to go and Nana had driven up to watch him play soccer. Thank goodness for her he didnt have to go!!!! THANK YOU NANA!!!!! Brett was happier staying home and we got to watch a very serious game! It was also a little chilly and rainy. So thanks to Nana we all had a great time. And thanks to the Utes finally pulling out the win.

After the game it was pumpkin carving time. We made a vampire pumpkin. Brett and Yia Yia are now coloring another pumpkin with crayons. Waiting for the pizza to arrive and then I am off to bed.



In other good news- BYU is loosing to TCU right now 31-7, go frogs!

Punkinaze

There are a few big Halloween venues near our home. First of all the Haunted Hallow which looks awesome. Our friends asked us to go tonight but I just didnt dare bring brett there. I dont think he is quite ready. I didnt think I was ready to carry him though a dark house/woods for 45 minutes either. We also have a corn maze just minutes from the house so I decided to take him there. We went when it was light outside. On the way into the corn there is a huge slide. Brett LOVED it!!!! So by he time we went into the corn maze he was saying "whats the point". I asked if he wanted to go and get lost in the maze and find our way out and he said "but I have already seen it". We walked in for about 5 minutes just at the front- I could see the way out the whole time. By that time he was done with the corn and back to the slide. He is really a smart kid to wonder why anyone would just want to walk through corn for hours, but geez- I could have taken him to a park for free to slide.

Handsome Boy

tonight I took brett to a guy at my works Halloween Yard. He goes out of his way to decorate. He creates paths in his yard with tunnels and a ton of spooky decorations. We went when it was still light outside. Brett was very brave except for in the tunnel there was a zombie type guy (looked like ozzy osborn) who scared him when he moved and laughed. we went by him 4 times and Brett stood on the opposite side of me. The very last time he ran past time. Other than that scary thing he was so brave and enjoyed the outing.

Opening Morning Deer Hunt

Justin had a great opening morning for the deer hunt this year. He had a special limited entry deer tag. He got a 28 inch 4 point at first light. The best part of all this means Justin will be home all next weekend!!! The weekend after that is the muzzle loader elk.

Nice Weekend

Our weekend was very nice and relaxing. On Friday Justin and Brett had some daddy and son time. Then after I got home we did a little test with Brett per his doctors recommendation and saw how he reacted to coffee. It was entertaining to say the least.

He drank about 1/2 the cup of coffee. He actually enjoyed it at first but about halfway through he said it made his tummy hurt.


After he had it he went outside and played soccer for a little bit. He came inside and said "Im so tired I need to lay down". I was like, wow the coffee thing is working and then about 20 seconds later it hit him!!!!! He was jumping up and down on the couch saying boing, boing, boing then he started playing cars and had about 15 cars out playing demolition derby, from there he went on to tearing the couch apart. He had so much energy it was insane. This was around 5 pm. That night he had calmed down but when we put him to bed he did really well and stayed in bed but he did not fall asleep until after 11 pm. He was in there drawing pictures, then he said they were a surprise for me so he had to stay up and protect them. Then he wrapped them up like a present and laid on top of it the whole night. He was just not sleeping for anything.



Saturday he woke up and had soccer. He was so excited that Uncle Matt and Aunt Whitney were coming to the game. Matt was teasing and told him to make 6 goals... guess what he did. The score to the game (not that they keep score) was 6 to nothing. Brett was a little star. we felt bad the other kids didnt get the chance to score but Brett was just in the right place at the right time. He did well going for the ball and stealing it from the other team. also one of the kids got mad at him and pushed him down and another one grabbed him from behind and leveled him. Later in the game the one kid came up and gave brett the most evil eye you could imagine. Brett gave it back and then like such a good boy walked away! It was awesome.

After that Matt and Whitney hung out for a while which was nice. Brett loved the extra attention. Matt helped Justin out with a project and if you can believe it they got the trailer in the garage!!!! Now our neighbors dont have to see out trailer in our driveway all the time. Its so awesome to have it in there. I was not optimistic and I just knew it wouldnt fit and something would break But Justin proved me wrong.




After that we watched the Utes game!!!! Yahoo they won again. It was pretty but we will take it.

Hunting season opens next weekend. Justin is getting ready. He drew out for a special hunt permit this year.

100,000 miles

So my toyota highlander hit 100,000 miles this week! We got it when it only had like 5k miles on it. I drive a lot for work, its been on tons of trips and a really good car. Knock on wood- I think it can last 100k more.

Why having a boy is so awesome!

So I know that I have been a little negative about having a boy. I know I have been this way due to our recent stress with Brett and his school (Brett has his full psych eval tomorrow). So I am going to get on this boy bandwagon knowing that things can be different and that even with all the stress we have had Brett is worth every minute of it. Brett is a great kid and I love him a ton another boy will be awesome. So here is my top list of why having a boy is so awesome!!!

1. I wont have to deal with hair/bows. I barley even take the time to brush mine, so if I had a little girl they would look like fire starter.

2. No having to explain and deal with menstruation.

3. In a perfect world- we get the cheaper half of the wedding.

4. No Barbies!!!!!!!! I had enough of those as a kid to last my entire life.

5. Brett already has ever superhero known to man so I wont need to buy that many toys for the preschool age.

6. Handmedowns (starting at age 3). I already have a bike, scooter, etc.

7. Teenage drama! Boys have it too but I dont think they hold a grudge as much as girls do.

8. Brett wants a boy! He thinks girls are silly and boys are cool because they can swim (4 year old reasoning)

9. No Glass Ceiling.

soccer

Brett had a great soccer game this week. He scored 4 times and got the ball about a dozen more times and just barely missed getting a goal. The other 2 boys who were there on his team also scored. The weather was great so he didnt get over heated either.

Brett also had a great Friday at school. 2 green stickers!!!! Yahoo!!! He was so good for me and my mom last night, then again for me today I decided to surprise him and buy him demolition derby tickets. Last time they had one it was sold out. He is very excited and taking a good nap right now to get ready for us to freeze!!!!

After we got back from soccer brett started playing with Seth. They went out to the trampoline and a few minutes later seth was coming back inside. I asked where brett was and he wouldnt tell me. I could then hear brett screaming because Seth had locked him outside. I sent Seth straight home. Those 2 little boys just are not getting a long right now at all, and I just dont want to deal with it nor do I have the energy. If they start fighting its over!

My mom was so sweet to come up for my appt yesterday. She knew my heart was set on a little girl so after the appointment we went shopping and picked up a few maternity items and then we got some baby clothing. Okay so little baby boys do have some cute clothing available!!!! I felt so much better after that. When we got home we showed Brett the clothing and asked him what he thought that meant. He had the biggest grin and said- a boy! It was sweet. He also picked out of the clothes we bought an outfit for it to come home from the hospital in. It had a monkey on the butt and he thought that was pretty cool. He also decided he wants to name the baby Bart. After we had dinner my mom hemmed all my pants for me. It was nice to have some time with my mom. She is the best!

Brett told me this morning if it was a girl he would toss it out the window, so the fact that its a boy is a blessing.

Green/Yellow!

Brett had a green morning and a yellow afternoon. NO RED!!!!!! We went to McDonalds to celebrate.
