Cousin's Sleepover

Last weekend Brett went to a sleepover at his cousin's house. He had a blast and wants to go back here are a few pictures.

Change

Well its official! I have put in my notice at my current employer. I will be starting a new job as an HR Consultant on February 11th. There are many reasons why this was a hard decision and an easy decision all at the same time. Overall I will be having more time with Brett each day and that is what it came down to.....

Bowling

We took Brett bowling a few weeks ago. At first Brett did great. the bowling alley had ramps for kids so they could push their ball down it and then bumpers that went up when it was his turn and retracted when it was Justin or mines turn (I sort of wish I had the bumpers the whole time). Anyway he started to struggle in the 2nd game because he wanted to bowl like everyone else. He wanted to throw the ball, not roll it down a ramp or between his legs and lets just say it didnt work well and we ended up in crisis mode leaving during the middle of the priciest games of bowling I have ever played. Also he was not given the pizza reward he was promised for being good so we heard about that the entire way home. But what has came out of this is that his bowling set at home he has started to bowl like the big people. He always sticks his leg out at the end. Its kinda funny. He was doing it perfect just like an adult until I got out the camera and then he just didnt do it like he had been but its still cute. Please dont mind the mess in the house behind him as you watch (mom).

Butterfly from Santa

Brett asked Santa Claus for a butterfly. I could never figure out where he came up with this idea however, the good thing was that I had already purchased a game with butterflies. Its called Elefun and Brett loves it! This was from one of his first times playing with it. He is now much better and can catch a few butterflies each time he plays. (they are hard little suckers to catch).

Such a big boy

Brett is getting to be such a big boy. His new big boy bed was a success! He loves the freedom it provides yet he still goes to sleep for 12 hours a night. Our bedtime routine takes a little longer now, glasses of water, picking out book after book, but overall it has been a major success and he loves it.

Brett started a new school this week. We have been on the wait list for this school for a while and due to the new year they had some openings as they moved kids around. So far so good. He misses his other friends a little but I think he likes the structure the new school provides. It also has 2 way mirrors so I can spy on them a little before he sees me to to make sure all is well. This is a picture from his first day of school. The picture has nothing to do with school but it was taken on the same day.



This is Brett painting in the kitchen. It just amazes me that he can stand in front of an easle and paint only on the paper now. It seems like not to long ago we had paint on our counter tops, floors, walls etc.

Snow Snow Snow

I am so sick of SNOW! It took me 1 hour and 50 minutes to drive from Layton to Bountiful yesterday. I love the snow but I have to admit this year has been a bit of over kill. I dont think we have seen this much snow in such a short amount of time since the 80's. I promised Justin when we moved in the house that I would shovel snow this year so we could have a house instead of an apartment! Well I have only done it once and he has done it about 20 times so far and my back is still hurting. Hmmmm maybe apartment life wasnt so bad after all. I must admit though I am so happy to have a garage this year. Poor Justin's truck is out in the snow so the harley can have a nice warm spot in the garage though!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to everyone. We had a blast on New Years. Thanks Ryan and Missy for inviting us over. Now we did not make it until Midnight at the party but after we got Brett to bed Justin and I were awake at midnight and flipped the TV on to see the ball drop. Said happy new year and went to bed. We are getting so old!

Brett had a blast on new years but I didnt get any pictures. Brett got to play with Daxton and Issac they are both 4. So brett loved hanging out with the big boys. There was one point that they were behind a baby gate eaching holding a gun of some sort and they looked like a bunch of bandits. Wish I had my camera. Brett can only talk about daxton now.
