A garage fit for a Harley!

I think Justin's motorcycle has it made! First we painted the floor so the harley have wouldn't have to sit on plain concrete (justin said there is a few more advantages than that) and now it even has its own mat to sit on. Justin said it is so the kick stand doesnt scratch the floor but I think it is so the motorcyle doesnt get chilled on the concrete. Anyway it was a birthday present from his mom and dad and he loves it. So does the Harley! Thanks Steve and Deb.

Decorating

I had a fun time last weekend with my mom shopping. We found a little interior store that was going out of business. It was fun picking stuff out. After I left her I ended up at a few more stores and came home with a lot of stuff. Justin was in Pittsburgh so when he came home he got a surprise. I am not sure I am satisfied yet but it was fun to try. I keep moving things around. We have been watching a lot of home decorating shows on TV. They make it look really easy so I thought it would be a sinch but it just doesnt seem as easy as they make it look. I think the unlimited budgets have more to do with it than talent.

Home Sweet Home

It feels good to be home. I missed both of my guys a ton. I got to see Brett last night around 10 for an hour and a little bit this morning. Justin just landed and will be home in an hour or so. I wasnt gone long but it sure felt good to sleep in my own bed last night Brett had a blast and hasnt stopped talking about all the things he got to do while we were gone. Its going to be tough to keep up. I just love being home!

Off to Colorado

Right now Justin is in Pittsburgh at a conference and I am leaving today for Colorado for work. Its funny how things happen at the most inconvenient times. Brett had a sleep over at my sisters last night and is headed to price until Wednesday. I am going to miss the little guy.

Happy Fathers Day

I am surrounded by the best fathers in the world. I am really not trying brag but really my father, my father in law, and my husband are just wonderful. I love you all and am just happy to have each of you in my life. Happy Fathers Day.

House Update

So we are all moved in and finally had a weekend that it just felt like home. It was wonderful. I am starting to figure out where I put everything and it doesnt feel like a hotel anymore. I think Brett is feeling the same way. We had an unfortunate event though. We went to hang up covers in the basement windows and found some water under the master bath. I took a long hot bath to make sure it wasnt the tub. After that I turned the shower on and it was like Niagra falls in the basement. We are not exactly sure what to do next. It could be some cracks in the grout or it could be a lot worse than that. Luckily i have a great husband who is taking charge.

Below is a picture of our fireplace. we bought a few vases this weekend. I love to watch decorating shows on TV. I would love to be able to accomplish what they do but I just dont have a knack for it no matter how hard I try. But this was an attempt to put a few little touches into the new house



I havent put a picture of the laundry room on the blog yet. I have to admit it was a major selling point for me. Since I have been married I had a closet for a laundry room with stackable washer and dryer, then another closet, then a washer and dryer in the back of an unfinished basement, then another closet, then a little bigger closet. So this one is so great. It actually has some counter space and a place to hang close! It makes me feel really really really old to be so excited about a laundry room.

Bathroom

I am not 100% sure but one of the bathrooms in the house didnt seem like it was painted. It looked primered but thats it. You could see the tape seams. So one of the projects we took on this weekend was to paint it. I thought I could do it myself and started without Justin. Lets just say he came in being the hero he is and fixed all my mistakes. I am just not cut out for painting. There is to much prep work that I did not do correctly. It is also a tiny little 1/2 bath and did not have much room to maneuver. So Justin- Thank you for your patience in dealing with my mess this weekend. It looks great.

Our house is pretty much a cream color throughout with bright white trim and a lighter white colored ceiling. So we decided to go a little crazy and do something different.
