Day off

I had a nice day off thursday. I started off at the Halloween Parade at Brett's school. He was so proud to walk by me in his spiderman outfit. From there we went to Chik Fil A to play on the play ground and have lunch. Brett had a blast with a little girl named Addison and Caleb got in a play ground fight with a little girl who did not like babies. All in all it was a blast. After lunch we headed to a pumpkin patch and took an hour to pick out the perfect pumpking. Got to go home a rest for an hour and then off to the neighborhood trunk or treat for a gallon of candy. Not sure what we are going to do with all the candy.

Caleb's first time on a play ground, we were over in a protected corner but we had a little gal climb under and push him over.

Happy Halloween

Took Brett, Dax, Caleb and Missy to the Pumpkin walk tonight. It was fun as we walked around a park full of pumpkins and the boys got Candy. Brett is Spiderman who has 2 costumes and wanted to mix and match.


Caleb is a cute pumpkin. He stayed nice and warm while we all froze.

Halloween Brothers.

After the pumpkin walk we went back to the halloween yard maze that Brett goes to every year. This was the first time we did it in the dark. Both boys got scared in the tunnel but after that they were both being "super cool" and not scared! I still cant believe Darrin does this every year. Its short and fun but about perfect for the scare factor of a 5 year old.

Deer Hunting 2010

Friday we headed down to Fish lake for the deer hunt. Brett wanted to go hunting this time. He was so cute in his orange and totally hung in there better than you could expect a 5 year old with the wrong footwear could. He went opening morning and decided not to go the rest of the weekend. We had a rough hunt due to the fog. Every time it looked like it might be lifting it settled again. So no deer this year.




caleb enjoyed the deer hunt too. He hung out in the warm cabin and snacked! He was into mischief the entire time as he can now crawl and pulled himself to standing the first time.


Kind of a bummer not to get a deer but who could complain to a view like this each morning. We had the yellow trees, fog, and rain.

Timbermine

About once or twice a year we treat ourselves to the timbermine. It is our favorite place in the world to get prime rib. We have never had better prime rib anywhere.





While we were waiting brett was checking out all the pez in the bath tub.

Caleb didnt get to enjoy the prime rib or the steak that brett ate but he did get to have a cracker on saturday.

My mom is just so talented. I have not one ounce of her talent in my body. I just love these watch bands that she made me! I have purple, red, brown and black. The picture does not do them justice. Love them mom... thank you!!!



Justin surprised me tonight and showed up in the parking garage of Huntsman with the kids. It was kind of weird to look down the parking garage and see Justin standing there and then I saw Brett. At first I was thinking that I was seeing things but it was them. After the great visit with dad we went to the Spaghetti Factory. Anyone who knows me (Chris, Jen and mom) know that I LOVE their myzithra (sp) cheese and mushroom sauce. Anyway it was a wonderful dinner.

the waitress we had disappeared for about 20 minutes. We had no drinks and Justin had to leave with Caleb because Caleb was tired. So justin missed his ice cream. The waitress finally showed up and we ordered ice cream brett says "please hurry it up this time" On top of the 20 minute wait she forgot Brett's drink at the beginning as well. Even with a flaky waitress it was still such a nice night. After we finished ice cream brett and I walked through trolley square and went up and down the elevator then up down and up the escalator. We finished it off by throwing pennies in the wishing fountain out front.

Brett's Scary Adventure

Brett had a scary little adventure today. He got off the bus with other kids who ran back to the day care because it was raining. Brett walked back and could not open the gate. The day care did not realize he was missing and he was locked out in the rain. He walked back to the bus stop and then back to their house and hid under a tree crying. Luckily a very nice neighbor of theirs saw brett and walked him in to the day care. Brett was pretty traumatized and wet. The day care reacted quickly. They have a stool out by the gate now and have taught him how to open the gate. I am still a little upset that they didnt realize he wasnt there but am happy for their immediate action to make sure it doesnt happen again. They were very upset about it as well. Anyway we are grateful that a very nice person saw him and took care of him. Also grateful that he did walk to far away.



Its hard when I work full time to see much of Caleb during the week. I leave while he is sleeping and when I get home he is exhausted. He parties all day at day care and forgets to nap, so when he gets home he is tired. Today he was asleep by 6 pm and that was after I spent an hour trying to keep him awake. I cant wait for the weekend so I get to have some time with his cute little smile.


A lady at my work has a niece with cystic fibrosis. She just turned 2 and is eligible to get a vest that will help her breathe better. the vest is 16k and insurance will pay half. The girl at my work has been going up to morgan (she lives in eagle mt) each weekend to sell crafts at the farmers market. this little girl is so adorable and it just breaks my heart that this life saving device is so much. They have had some generous donations from strangers to help them out. I was able to snag one of these cute little ladders for my front porch from their sale. They have about 1500 left to go.

Busy

Just a quick post to let you know we are still alive. It seems like I am posting a lot fewer and farther in between these days. Life has been really busy lately. Brett and Daddy went Fillmore this last weekend to antelope hunt and Caleb and I stayed home. I didnt leave the bed the whole weekend as I was under the weather. Also I got a really cool new phone that took all weekend to play with. I am so not tech savvy but now I have really cool phone with lots of fun apps. Brett and I have been downloading app after free app to it so that we have more games to play. We have light sabers, yatzee, connect four, bowling, fishing, frogger, a bar scanner to look up prices, etc. Also i can facebook and gmail easily from it. the only problem is that it wont download pictures to my blog. If I could do that I could blog all the time. Anyway life is good here just busy. We are all healthy today (knock on wood)....

The picture above was a photo I took with my new phone. Caleb is sitting up really well these days and rolling all over the place. He looked like he was going to start crawling but then he seemed to ditch crawling for rolling wherever he wants to go. He is quicker than quick.

Brett is doing well at kindergarten. He likes his class and has been talking about friends he has made. I dont know how much he is learning as most is a review right now but socially it seems like a great thing for him. He also seems to be doing good at day care. The less structured home day care setting paired with having the break with kindergarten each day has made a huge difference.

I will try and take more pictures so that I can have something to blog about.
