I am surrounded by the best fathers in the world. I am really not trying brag but really my father, my father in law, and my husband are just wonderful. I love you all and am just happy to have each of you in my life. Happy Fathers Day.

House Update

So we are all moved in and finally had a weekend that it just felt like home. It was wonderful. I am starting to figure out where I put everything and it doesnt feel like a hotel anymore. I think Brett is feeling the same way. We had an unfortunate event though. We went to hang up covers in the basement windows and found some water under the master bath. I took a long hot bath to make sure it wasnt the tub. After that I turned the shower on and it was like Niagra falls in the basement. We are not exactly sure what to do next. It could be some cracks in the grout or it could be a lot worse than that. Luckily i have a great husband who is taking charge.

Below is a picture of our fireplace. we bought a few vases this weekend. I love to watch decorating shows on TV. I would love to be able to accomplish what they do but I just dont have a knack for it no matter how hard I try. But this was an attempt to put a few little touches into the new house



I havent put a picture of the laundry room on the blog yet. I have to admit it was a major selling point for me. Since I have been married I had a closet for a laundry room with stackable washer and dryer, then another closet, then a washer and dryer in the back of an unfinished basement, then another closet, then a little bigger closet. So this one is so great. It actually has some counter space and a place to hang close! It makes me feel really really really old to be so excited about a laundry room.

Bathroom

I am not 100% sure but one of the bathrooms in the house didnt seem like it was painted. It looked primered but thats it. You could see the tape seams. So one of the projects we took on this weekend was to paint it. I thought I could do it myself and started without Justin. Lets just say he came in being the hero he is and fixed all my mistakes. I am just not cut out for painting. There is to much prep work that I did not do correctly. It is also a tiny little 1/2 bath and did not have much room to maneuver. So Justin- Thank you for your patience in dealing with my mess this weekend. It looks great.

Our house is pretty much a cream color throughout with bright white trim and a lighter white colored ceiling. So we decided to go a little crazy and do something different.

4th Date.

Saturday it was so nice to get away from all the work we are doing around the new house and just relax. Brett and Dani got to get together again which is always a riot.

If you look back through past posts you can see the long tradition these 2 have together. They are best of pals even though they dont see each other much.





Chris and I have known each other since debate camp in 9th grade. I wont mention how many years ago that was but it sure is nice to know I have such a great friend.

Happy Birthday to You!

Happy B-day Justin! Brett is a firm believer that if its your birthday you must have a cake (even though he wont eat it), a birthday hat, and balloons. So we made sure Justin had all the birthday necessities. Justin your the best- Hope this is a great year for you.

Fish Lake

We just took a 4 day trip to Fish Lake it was so wonderful. Justin and I both got to finish a book, no cell phones, no lap tops, it was heaven. We even rented a boat one day and went out on the lake. It was so calm it was like cutting through glass. Brett had a blast. He has lost his patience with fishing, but loved running around with sticks. He found a snake, a squirrel, deer, rock chucks, birds, etc. He would play fishing in the river with sticks but when it was an actual fishing pole he just couldnt sit still Brett only got to catch one fish on the trip. Justin got to go fly fishing alone and caught about 20.

Garage

Here are a few pictures of Justin's latest project. He is painting the garage floor. Its lots of work but it looks sweet! Go Utes Red!



The last picture is a good indicator of why I should not use an iron. I had some distilled water that leaked and went through the floor and damaged sheet rock in the new house! Luckily it damaged it in the garage where you cant see it well but geez that sucks to ruin something in a brand new house. The wrath of Christa
