Its Football Time!!!!

Its finally here! College Football Season! I wait all year for football season. So far Weber started out their season great 62-6. Utah is playing right now. No matter the outcome I am just pumped it is finally here. We have season tickets to the Utes this year and are planning to catch a few weber games as well. Possibly even make a trip to Utah State this year!

Yard Update: Our yard is ready for sprinklers. They cost a whole lot more than I expected even though we are doing them ourselves. The cost was so over what we expected we got another bid saving a little money but it put us a bit behind in schedule.

Bret Update: Brett has been going through another mean streak. We have a new incentive for him as lagoon seemed to work. Right now more than anything he wanted to get a small battery powered 4-wheeler. we told him he could have it for 20 stickers. Well he has had a whole week and only has 2 stickers (the only reason he has 2 is because we had a double incentive day friday). He has just not been being nice to finds and teachers, hit a kid in the face with a shovel, etc. Not sure what is going on. He is such a doll and then boom- SNAP..... He just cant seem to control himself once he snaps. Friday was a good day and he had fun with all the rewards he got for it.

Random Stuff

Boys chilling out on the couch. Justin is recovering from a hard weekend of work, and his first day back to work for the school year. Brett is recovering from being a little sick. He has been acting fine but had a really stuffy nose. The only symptom he has had is just sleeping more than usual.



Brett had a little tumble down the cement steps on our front porch this weekend while he was playing with his new buddy. A little bloody nose caused a lot of conversation on how we cant put a band aide up his nose. We finally have a neighbor that is around his age. He is 4 and they get a long very well. His new buddy has a bit of a potty mouth but is a real sweet heart Brett is always looking for him when we come home. I am happy that he has a friend but have a little anxiety letting him go to his house to play. Brett went there and play xbox and I just was not sure what to do. He lives across the street. Not a busy place but when he had to use the restroom he just ran out the door and across the street. So i am having heartburn letting him grow up to play with friends but at the same time he cant really be running across the street at age 3 without an adult present..... Not sure how the etiquette works with playing at others houses yet.





Cody the chewing dog! Cody has been such a fun addition to our family but OMG he chews everything. He loves brett's toys more than anything and we have had some tears over things. We have purchased more than 100 in puppy toys and he doesnt want them at all.I have also given him bowls, socks and other items that seem to be of the same texture as the things he like but he still wont chew them. he only likes Brett's toys and my shoes. Below is a rare moment when he is actually playing with his toy. Brett and I will be taking Cody to puppy school starting on Wednesday.

Yard Work

a few weeks ago our yard looked like this (this isnt our yard but is directly across the street) There were weeds taller than me and Brett could get lost in them.



We got the yard tilled by a friends dad. He did a great job. Then this weekend we rented a tractor to level the yard out. Justin drove tractors growing up and I think for the first hour he had fun, but its a lot of work including lots of shoveling with his hands too. Brett got to go for a short ride and said it was bumpy.




Also on the side of the house were a ton of rocks that had to be moved by hand! Justin has been shoveling and shoveling to get them out of the way. I usually just go outside, ask questions and tell him what to do but he has done so much already. Justin is awesome.


Dont know how far we will get this year on the yard. Its one step at a time and Justin starts back at Weber next week so we might be at a stand still for a while as sprinklers are the next step.

Brett Sleeping

Brett has been one of those kids who gets really really tired but doesnt fall asleep until he is darn ready too. The other night I went in and saw him sound asleep but it looked like he was reading. I guess the battle finally ended but he wasnt ready to give up the book.

Its Official (again)

So I have written a lot of posts about Justin's Phd being official. This is the final one! His degree finally came in the mail and it has officially posted to his transcripts. My biggest learning experience through this whole thing is that there are a ton of hoops to jump through in the world of academia. Brett and I are so proud of Dr. Daddy!!!!

Water Dog

Cody has turned out to be a dog who loves water. He loves to be sprayed with the hose and jump in Brett's pool. The other day he surprised me a little as he took it upon himself to join Brett in his bath..... Cody has a great personality but he is chewing everything. I have had puppies before but never one who chewed this much. He is obsessive about it. Brett has already lost a few toys to the puppy. Brett and he are getting along good for the most part. They have their moments. There have been a few fights over toys and a few tears of puppy bites.

Where did the weekend go?

Its been way to busy and I have no pictures to show for it. Saturday was Lagoon day. Brett had a ball. he got to go on lots of rides, play darts, and his favorite thing was playing in the fountain. We didnt go until 4:30 and the lines in Kiddie Land were not bad at all. He road about a dozen rides by the time we left at 7:15. All in all he earned every minute of it. The lines were not horrible it was just HOT! Brett spent 30 minutes of his time there playing in the fountain having a ball.

Sunday we went 4 wheeling with a big group of people. Brett had a blast again. By the time we got home we were so dusty I kept thinking of that little kid on Charlie Brown named "pig Pen". We all had a cloud of dust around us.

Cody and Brett are doing good. Brett is getting a little less nervous about him. Cody has been doing good too. Sleeping through the night. Our only deal is potty training. He hasnt had many accidents because of our watchful eyes but he doesnt know how to tell us he needs to go out yet.
