The Jackson family heading out for the Washington coast. A 14 hour drive with a 1 year old and 6 year old.
Justin in the drivers seat, a seat he filled for the entire trip.
We made it around 5 pm. We were able to watch a wonderful sunset from the patio of our timeshare.
The next day we played on the beach and swam in the pool. It was around 65 degrees the entire trip. Perfect weather to play on the beach in a sweatshirt and get your feet wet.
Brett was covered in sand the entire trip. Check out the feet.
On Monday we went horseback riding in Long Beach Washington.
Justin and Caleb road a gigantic horse named Mandingo. Check out how big he is.
Brett was old enough to ride his own horse. That was exciting for him and scary for mom.
Long Beach had a great mcdonalds! We ate there 3 times on our trip
We had one night which the fog rolled in. It was very creepy.
Justin and Brett went treasure hunting. Unfortunately all they found was a quarter (which was planted) and a broken light bulb.
on Tuesday we made a road trip to Tillamook to go to the cheese factor. Big brother pushed Caleb on the tour.
Caleb wanted to see so bad.
mmmmmm tillamook cheese.
We spent more time at the beach. Mommy and Brett tried to build a sand castle but Caleb was not helping. He liked to destruct the castle as soon as we started.
Brett got a big 50 inch kite to fly the last time we went to the beach. He almost flew away the kite was so big.
More beach time
Caleb the sand castle destruction sand baby.
Brett flying his kite
Caleb flying the kite
Brett and mom went to a kite museum and built our own kite a few days before. The darn thing would not fly very well. Daddy was able to engineer it with a stick to make it fly a little bit but it never really took off. Brett did have fun chasing it on the beach.
Caleb made it! still smiling on the 2nd 14 hour drive of the week.
The best part of the trip (according to brett) was that he learned how to swim. We swam EVERY single day! By Tuesday Brett could swim all the way across the pool by himself!!! It made the whole entire trip worthwhile.
