Brett's big purchase/fence pictures

Brett was able to save up some money this month and make his first large purchase. He has been begging for a large skateboard.  we were saving up 25.00. Yia Yia and Nana were both generous to his wallet.  He did chores like watching Caleb, washing dishes, etc.  When he had 20.00 saved Justin saw an ad in the paper for one for 20.00. We went right away to get it. When we got there they had this one which had a scratch on it for 6.84.  Anyway he got his skate board (which he is afraid to ride) and a slip n slide.

Justin has been working his butt off on the fence.  It is so close to being done!  Everything except the last gate will be done today and we are hoping Friday for the gate. Its awesome being married to such a great guy who works so hard (on his summer vacation).  He is leaving Saturday for a well deserved vacation.  He and some friends are riding their Harley's to red lodge Montana.  I have owed Justin a trip to Montana ever since I got my trip to Alaska......  Glad he is going and I hope its a safe fun trip.

New little play cottage.... we needed a few toys for the back yard didnt we? It took 3 Toys R Us employees to get this to fit in my car.  The sad part was that I had to tell them how to do it.....  With me being in charge for a task like this you know we took the hard way. 

Cody is probably the only one in the family who doesn't want a fence.  He loves watching the outside world. 

Rosco the new puppy doesn't really know whats going on. he is just cute as can be. He and Cody are great pals.  Rosco always sleeps right on top of Cody.  Rosco is also very good with the kids.  His biggest challenge is that he wants food all the time. He has been working very hard to figure out how to take the lid off the rubbermade.  My guess is that he will figure that out VERY soon.

Fence

Good news is that Brett is better. All the tests came back negative so we are not sure what caused it, but he is better.

Justin has been working so hard on the fence. All the posts are in.  He has a horrible sunburn right across his back.  We have also had a little issue with the neighbor. His yard is higher than ours and since we are doing this on our property Justin dug right up to the property line.  We are paying for the fence and its on our side so we are doing it so it looks the best for us.  He is a little miffed but shouldn't be since its a free fence.  He ended up bringing in a few railroad ties to keep his yard from sliding into the fence.  He was never very friendly before so it probably wont change a thing but I hope there are no issues going forward.  Justin has worked a ton during his vacation.  I try to help but with 2 kids and a new puppy its hard, so pretty much Justin has done this all on his own. So glad I married such a handy man.

Bad Day

Yesterday was a horrible day!  There is no other words for it.

Brett had been sick since Sunday. He was throwing up and had diarrhea.  No fever but just miserable. It has made horrible nights since Sunday. we have been so very tired the last week.   he wakes up at night sceaming- help me help me.  He feels okay in between everything but we are making him take it easy which is very hard on this one.  He seems to be getting worse though not better. 

Since Brett had been sick for a few days and I decided to stay home and take him to the Dr. this was after only about 1 hour of sleep.  I got an early appointment and was rushing to get Caleb out the door to day care and Brett to the Dr.  I totally forgot that we had a flat bed trailer parked in the driveway. Needless to say, I hit it and have done about 575.00 of damage to my car.  It was hanging off and un drivable.  Justin was able to snap it back into place. it needs to get fixed but at least its drivable in the meantime.  they are doing some lab work and hopefully he will just get better or we will know what he has in a few days.  Poor Kid.

To top that all off we are in the midst of putting in a fence (lets say Justin is putting it in- I wont take credit for it, I am just good at brining drinks out and holding posts) and Justin's harley wouldnt start the night before.  Over all its just been a rough week.

Last night I slept from 1230 to 520 am!!!! thats the most sleep I have had since last week.  So things are going to get better.... lets just hope its fast. 

Summer

Summer is in full swing at our house.  The grass has been crazy and taking Justin forever to cut.   Yesterday was the first time he was excited to mow the lawn.  He got to ride his new riding lawn mower.  What use to be a 3+ hour job is now around 35 minutes!  Caleb loves it as well. He enjoyed going for a ride.

Brett is also having a great summer.  He and his daddy just took a trip to Fillmore. While they were there they went to U Dig and dug up trilobites, then went to lemans caves and topaz mountain.  Brett came home then had a 2 day sleep over with his cousins aleck and Jace.  Yia Yia was so fun and came to stay with them.  She let them have a hot dog and marshmellow roast, play slip and slide and blow lots of bubbles.  Now Brett is in Fillmore with nana spending a few days without his mom and dad. 

Our yard this year has been a struggle. Most things just didnt grow well because of the cold temps.  Now everything is filling in.  Here are my wildflowers.

Last but not least meet Rosco.  He is the newest member of our family (Deb if your reading this while brett is down dont tell him! - It will be a surprise when he gets home).  Rosco is a German Wirehair. He is a hunting dog that points.  Right now he is a sweet 10 week old puppy.  He has a ton of energy and is cute as can be.  not a snugly dog but a very playful one.  That way he can keep up with cody. 

Cody and Rosco are already pals.  Cody lays down and lets Rosco bite his tail.   Rosco loves to chase cody around and play with him.  when they both get tired they will lay in the shade and share a toy.
